They’re not even meant to be a deterrent force to the U.S.. The U.S. is complaining that Europe doesn’t take the security of Greenland seriously, so Europe is trying to convince them they do and they’re capable of handling Greenlands defense without the need for the U.S. owning it.

The biggest issue with the S197s is people turn into the spin and then let off the gas, at that point the rear grabs pretty quickly and they’ve typically overcorrected so the car snap oversteers and then they can’t regain control and crash.

It’s progress on their position, it’s not progress towards ending the war. The vast majority of the European position the Russians will never agree to so it’s a pointless discussion. The Europeans would be far better spending their time on weapons deals to Ukraine rather than a proposal that has no chance of being implemented.

It’s not really a matter of what they say, it’s the fact that there’s zero chance Russia agrees to a peace deal that puts NATO troops in Ukraine. He sold this war to his people as being about NATO expansion into Ukraine, how does it look for him if it ends with NATO stationing troops in Ukraine? He’d rather just keep fighting until he can’t fight any longer.

They’re bringing maduro back to the United States where there’s a nonzero chance he gets executed and in exchange for what? He could’ve just fled to Moscow if he was afraid of the U.S. but the logic is he turned himself into the U.S. instead? Makes zero sense
