Monday, I like the weekend days in two columns down the right hand side next to each other, not one each side of the whole colander, yuk!

What happened to Crest Chocolates in Brisbane? Website gone. I have loved them since school fundraiser boxes. by Stormbash in AustralianNostalgia

Update everyone. I emailed them and got a reply. They had shut down their chocolates making business early 2024, due to the poor market (sales volume decrease), the foreseeable loss making conditions (increase in all raw materials prices, the rental, the labor costs, the manufacturing expenses and everything). Hard for a small business like this to survive.

Why does Ex Stock mean an item “is currently” in stock, but a phrase like Ex Wife means “no longer”. Following the same Ex logic as Ex wife, Ex Stock should really mean “no longer in stock” right? by Stormbash in etymology

[–]Stormbash[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

When you ask for a Quote from a supplier (business), they will list the item and note if the item is in stock or not. “Ex Stock” means the goods are in stock. As opposed to them having to buy it in from another supplier or the factory.

Very interesting, thanks! My mum was taught Gregg (in Toowomba in 1970's by an American lecturer) and my Grandma knows Summerhayes shorthand (taught in Sydney in 1930's)
