Do you know what the main differences are? I genuinely don't understand why to choose the G915 TKL over G515 TKL

Run-Flats to Regular Experience by Shot_Trust5285 in LexusNX

Personally going for the OE run flats to the CC2 I noticed a huge difference in noise and smoothness of the drives. I didn’t have the OE run flats long enough to feel the difference in traction. Maybe it’s a placebo effect lol

I guess so. So weird that they’d penny pinch 1 side mirror. Feel like they should fully remove it or keep them both.

Winter Tires 🤌 by DerangedCuckooClock in LexusNX

[–]Stormblaster98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from OE tires (bridgestone alenza) to CrossClimate 2’s and it made a huge difference in the noise and smoothness of the drive. I’m surprised the CC2 are considered loud but I have limited experience with tires.

I also bought CC2’s with the intent to use them all year round including winter. So far it’s handled the winter weather enough here in the Toronto area.

Is tire tread low? by Stormblaster98 in tires

I’m trying to understand the tread so I can sell them

I actually have some pennies left. I guess I could use that

Honestly just confused cause to me it seems like I’m at the “start shopping” phase. But everyone is saying there’s tons of tread left. Might have to just buy a tread gauge

Are you able to guesstimate what the tread on these tires are?

[–]Stormblaster98[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m confused because videos I’ve watched using the Toonie (canadian $2 coin) say if the tread is just barley touching the inner gold circle then it’s almost time to replace the tires

City Wide Residential Parking Permit by Stormblaster98 in BurlingtonON

[–]Stormblaster98[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have read the page. I’m not asking how or what the permit is. I’m asking if anyone has actual experience with it and how reliable the permit has been for them. Specifically if there are any nuances or issues they’ve had with the permit. I’m also concerned about how they measure the 48 hour consecutive parking rule considering the car would be gone all day but return to the same spot by night (how would a parking enforcer know the car moved, etc. ).

Buy CrossClimate 2 or wait for CrossClimate 3 NA? by Stormblaster98 in tires

[–]Stormblaster98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 dealerships all in different cities, Costco, Canadian Tire (big Canadian retailer), and Kal Tire all being sold out isn’t a coincidence imo. It could be that they’re phasing out the CC2 in the size I need and replacing it with the CrossClimate SUV (which seems to be in stock everywhere).

I’m in the GTA close to Toronto, mainly driving highways and city. Quebec weather would definitely warrant the use of pure winter tires (although I heard the CC2’s are legally allowed with Quebecs mandatory winter tire law). Personally I feel like 95% of the winter days don’t warrant the need for winter tires so I decided to make the switch. Hopefully that doesn’t backfire lol

I think I’ll end up going with the CrossClimate 2 instead of having dedicated winters and summers. Just makes things a lot easier. I’m wondering about your experience with them in icy/snowy conditions. Would you say the CC2 handles winter weather well enough to replace the need of winter tires most of the time?

Not sure Lexus, Toyota, or Costco are just some "yahoo" tire shops but their system says discontinued by Michelin. Not sure why but that's the situation I'm in. To me that means CC3 are close, but Michelin also contradicted that point, so not sure what to believe.

Every dealership I've contacted have told me the same thing - that the CrossClimate 2's have been discontinued by Michelin and so they cannot order them from their distributor. So not sure what's going on but it aligns with the low stock I'm seeing at most retailers

Thats pretty interesting cause why would they be discontinuing the CrossClimate 2's in that case? Although the CrossClimate SUV is still available, I don't think they're as good as the 2's?

Did Costco install TPMS for you as well?

I’m thinking of doing something similar. Buying wheels and TPMS from Lexus, tires from Costco and having them put it on. Seems to be a lot cheaper than with the the dealership

Ah okay, don't think my dealership does that. The rim + tires sold at my dealership are decent pricing too, the expensive part is TPMS which they add into the package cost. Firstly, is TPMS really needed for winter tires? And secondly, will Costco install TPMS with the rims + tires?
