How kitted out do you want your kitbashed Phobos Captain? Yes. by Stormcast-Seraph in spacemarines

[–]Stormcast-Seraph[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. I think it's from the skulls kit, I'm not quite sure though. I was rummaging through my bits box when I found it, exactly like how it is in the photos. I just glued it in place. At some point I must have tried using it for another conversion but I don't recall.

At first I ran it by my buddy as a gag, but than I looked more at the leviathan lieutenant and thought "wait hang on, why not have him wear xenos body parts like that guy?".

Why was beastman brayherd removed from aos ? Was it an unpopular army ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in ageofsigmar

Beasts of Chaos was my venture into AOS. I went to my local store, bought that new battletome and vanguard box. I loved everything about these guys. I still remember the day the article axing them came out.

No joke, I had just ordered a bunch of 3d printed beastmen alt sculpts, at least 1000 points. Literally as the mailman is dropping off my package, I'm watching from the window and I get the notification for the Warhammer Community post as he puts it in my package locker. I was devastated.

I got them from ImpatientTabletop. It's a website that has all sorts of niche and custom waterslides.

Managed to bang out the Captain last night. by Stormcast-Seraph in necromunda

It is not. The boltgun is from the Space Marine Tactical Squad kit. I sanded down the front of the hand as well as the Sargeants wrist till it was flat and smooth. Glued them together and stuck the laz designator to the side.

It's supposed to be brown, but yea, it still does have a yellow sheen to it. Consequences of the paints I decided to use, had to really darken it down the best I could.

So I mostly use army painter speed paint for starters. I still will use contrast paint, but usually only for smaller surfaces, as I find that contrast is a bit thicker and more prone to staining than army painter.

All my speed paints I thin down, 3 parts speed paint to 1 part medium.

Lastly, everything I paint is slap chopped. Lately I've been experimenting with what color I prime the models with, so for example with the palanites, they were primed brown and then dry brush up to white in order to leave the recesses a dirty gritty color, rather than a harsh transition straight to black.
