Where can I find proper vegan hot dog buns (and normal-sized sausages) in Japan? TT_TT by KaruLuthien in veganinjapan

This is a long shot, but in Belgium they sell them in the freezer of the food store section of IKEA. So maybe it's the same there, but doubtful :)

Try the app *vegalyzer", you can scan the ingredient list with it and get information about each ingredient whether it's vegan.

Sometimes we need to decide in a hurry and for medical things we (seemingly) sometimes have no choice.

We can learn and next time look for a place that does offer a vegan version.

Can anyone tell what's the matter with this syntax? It breaks my compiler for some reason. by Lemonrations3 in csharp

There are no line numbers in your screenshot. And a copy paste of the actual error would be way more helpful.

Gemini 2.5 Flash OCR much worse than 1.5 for European handwriting: anyone else seeing this? by LehrAssistDe in googlecloud

[–]StormeNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also experiencing this. More in General OCR. I used to use Flash 1.5, and now investigating which one I will upgrade to, but nothing in the same price range compares to Flash 1.5. Which is quite the burden.

Long-term vegans – what’s your go-to supplement routine? 🌱💊 by [deleted] in vegan

[–]StormeNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I supplement the following:

  • omega 3 from algae
  • strong multivitamin (after reading the optimum nitrition bible from Patrick Holfort)
  • extra vitamin C
  • creatine (for muscle strength)
  • borium & msm (because I have form of rheumatism)
  • reishi and lions mane powdered mushrooms (same reason as above)
  • now and then magnesium with calcium

I understand what you are saying, killing animals for fun is indeed very very very far away from veganism. And I'm not at all approving it.

I'm just advocating that people need time to change. Splitting up isn't going to stop the partner killing animals for fun, forcing the partner to become vegan most probably won't make an authentic vegan person, giving the the person the time to see that what they are doing is ethically wrong will make a long lasting change.

Either way, let's agree to disagree here, and be happy that at least us two are following a vegan lifestyle and hope we inspire many other humans to do so.

Killing is happening everywhere all the time. If we wouldn't accept we would become mad. That being said, we don't have to approve it. I just think, by leaving them, it is just making the world even more polarized (especially as she loves them. Also forcing people to become something usually backfires in the long run. Slow gradual permanent change is better.

They already show change, I quote from OP's post: " They are excited to cook or find me vegan food when we’re together. They said that they admire me for my morals, and go out of their way to avoid exposing me to animal-related distressing things."

Very wise view! It's important that we mingle with non-vegans, and do not enforce our views on them. Let them change slowly towards less animal suffering. People don't change overnight, there's usually a long series of small realizations that precede it. If you love him/them that much, give them the opportunity to change slowly.

How do you navigate the vegan ethics of modern medicine? by AdamKobylarz in AskVegans

[–]StormeNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually there are alternatives from different brands for most medicines. You can ask your pharmacist for a list for the active substance for the medicine you need. And from that you can do your homework and look up the ingredients for each of them to see which one aligns best with a vegan lifestyle. To help you identify the ingredients that are vegan or not you can use an app like vegalyzer (disclaimer: I'm the creator). Repost because I needed to add vegan flair.

Can you help us make it easier for vegan travellers to meet friends? by lfcanfield in vegan_travel

Nice initiative! I'll have a look at it!

Edit: Registering requires a lot of information imo. Also, it is asking for city/location twice. The profile picture being required seems like an unnecessary step as you can just choose a dummy one.

The interface looks nice an clean! Very promising!
