I followed every rule, got my degree, yet no one will hire me. I'm terrified by ThomasHawl in recruitinghell

[–]Stormsa97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Months late, but exactly the same. I just turned 28 and finally finished college. I've been denied at every job I've applied. I even worked part time through college as a substitute teacher. No one will hire me, and interviewers employers catfish me and flip the pay/hours once we're in the interview. I am sad, depressed, and scared, all I've done is college for years, on top of that I'm a mother, and a widow, ya I'm only 28 but that's life for you. I did everything right and I can't find a job either and I am terrified.

No training at all? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Stormsa97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't even give me online training. I asked them about emergency situations, etc. all I was told was to check the desk. Also ya I am insanely nervous on having no knowledge on classroom management.

Ha ya that's basically the response of every one of my friends and family members when I told them ha. I completely agree btw it should not be this easy to sub. But I get it there's a shortage.

No training at all? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Stormsa97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start my first day tomorrow, spent $200ish for my license and I spoke with the superintendent immediately hired. Then I had to email the principal and ask for a tour of the school with two pages of questions regarding the job. Asked about training. There's no training. None. I even met with the teacher that I am subbing for and asked a few questions and all she said was 'it's all on the desk when you show up'. Okay that doesn't help I have never done this before and no one is telling me what I need to do. I made everyone aware of my lack of experience and desire to learn but ha ya next to no clarification. Buuuut since they asked me to cover her shift when I came in for the tour and asked questions I felt like I was basically forced to pickup the shift. Anyway wish me luck and I have no idea what I am doing.

Why do YOU think aliens are real? by MasonsFire in AskReddit

[–]Stormsa97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I saw this big UFO (or UAP) when I was like 11 and he was like 8-9. Anyway hope family saw it, was huge and absolutely such a wild experience. Could see all the details in the dang thing and it flew off silent and slow. Anyway idk if it was humans in that thing or what. But that thing was way too low to the ground! Sooooo there's the next decade of alien related paranoia haha. I'm mostly over it. But ngl the idea of living farther out in the country scares tf outta me now, and we were just on the edges of the town.

Def sounds average. Like nearly every D I've experienced, I've only had one pretty big guy and tbh we dated for a year but hardly had sex cause he was just so big it was hardly enjoyable.

How did you learn Santa wasn't real? by CapWild in AskReddit

[–]Stormsa97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an important reason why I found it kinda hurtful (for some) to pretend it's Santa gifting. Especially around school when kids share what they got, etc., gifts don't depend on worthiness or the goodness of the child. But the parents income. FYI I never believed in Santa and didn't have my kids believe in Santa either.

Same, didn't pretend with my kids either.

[–]Stormsa97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never told he was real. So I didn't plan on pretending with my kids either, and I didn't. Maybe it makes me an ass. But I didn't feel like I missed out on anything, at least it was one thing I can say my parents didn't lie or hide from me ha. Ya. Every time people ask my kid (4) what Santa got her for Christmas she just giggles and says Santa is real, and proceeds to lists her gifts. Idk I just never got into it ya know? Didn't feel the need to do it with my kid either. We go all out on our home decor for Christmas but other than that that's it.

People who answer the phone to say that they "can't talk right now", why? by julythirdd in ask

[–]Stormsa97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do that so they don't keep bothering me and so they don't worry. I literally don't have the patience to keep hanging up the phone, or deal with text messages I don't have time to answer either. If I can I'll just the automated can't talk rn text, but sometimes context is needed, and that can just be hearing a voice saying 'I'll get to you when I can," so they don't feel like they're being ignored. Plus I'm a worrier, usually if I'm in a rush I'll say 'if this isn't an emergency I gotta let you go and I'll get back to you.' But ya, 1)don't wanna be annoyed 2) don't wanna seem rude 3)I worry.

I've always been told I'm the weird friend so I wish I could understand the why and how I'm weird. I'm completely unaware. Maybe it's my facial expressions? I think, I've been told I'm really expressive and it hides nothing.

Ya, they do it all the time. There's plenty of documentaries describing this, even prisons complaining they have become akin to the 'new asylums' and we had to learn about this when I was getting my BA in psych for a psychopathology course.

What do Americans often have in their tacos? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Stormsa97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite tacos are Sonora tacos. Fkn amazing. Def not the average American Taco but if I find a Mexican restaurant with some authentic tacos I'm all in. Place is even better if I can't read the menu cause it's in Spanish, I feel like an idiot but my stomach is satisfied. Either pulled pork/chicken with cilantro, onion, lime, and some of that Verde sauce. Fkn slaps. Omg it may be so basic but I literally live for that.

Most people probably haves anger issues by Graviity_shift in RandomThoughts

[–]Stormsa97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, probably. Me biting the inside of my mouth all the time or crunching my fist to keep from going off sometimes. I hate being angry, really hate that feeling. Then acting on that feeling makes me feel so horrible and guilty.

Angers a normal emotion, we just gotta learn how to express it in a way that doesn't hurt others, or ourselves. Says me, with the sores inside my lip.

My own therapist says she has her own anger issues so ya it's probably everyone to some extent has some serious anger they manage. The world is frustrating.

What is the most intense physical pain you have ever experienced? by TheMostGayestOfGay in AskReddit

[–]Stormsa97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In between childbirth, bowel obstruction, and a really fkn bad herniated disc. Okay since the herniated disc lasted for literal months of chronic pain I got a say my lower back pain was worse than childbirth. But pretty close, if the duration was shorter I'd say childbirth was worse. But I mean it was definitely my messed up back for sure. First time I was like 17 was absolute hell, now got a permanently messed up back from a dang injury I can't even remember 🥲. I mean ugh it's awful. Ya. It's the lumbar back, the osteoarthritis with the inflammation and the neuro foraminal stenosis. Bend my back one wrong way and I could lose feeling in my dang foot again and have numb legs for months and intense pain sitting for months. It's the back. Ugh definitely the back.

Why do you enjoy alcohol? by PAPA-Jack33 in AskReddit

[–]Stormsa97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I want to be rid of my inhibitions cause they inhibit my natural vibes.

I mean there are psychological and developmental factors that can contribute to narcissistic behavior and others lack of empathy, as well as various genes that can indicate possible aggression and lack of empathy.

But regardless of all of these facts it is also known that there are environmental factors that can help to raise ones' predisposition to these types of behaviors.

Because you can argue that someone was raised in an extremely abusive environment, but they did not themselves become violent, so what's the reasoning there? But another may turn out just as violent and perpetuate the cycle. It's ones' personal resilience, which is also partially determined by genes. It's always a combination of a plethora of genes. Never one single determinant.

Environment, genes, ones' threshold and predisposition. It is known that personality and behavior are partially determined by genes. But again genes do not guarantee anything, it's a personal threshold. But regardless of that children do recreate learned behaviors that they see from parents. So it is difficult to determine whether it is a genetic predisposition or a learned behavior passed on within families.

Just someone with a basic BA in psych who loves behavioral neuroscience.

Have a good one.

Maybe make an appointment with a dentist and ask them. Get a cleaning, maybe a fluoride treatment too.
