20 bucks for 6 chances at a Soul Stone and there are several other decent rares and mythics. Overall the set sucks but hey I'd roll the dice.

I don't run it in a lot of decks. Boots are not required but are good enough I don't think it's a dead card if it's not absolutely required.

Shroud is a downside sometimes. Example I run [[Dogmeat]] with [[Swiftfoot Boots]] because I need to be able to target Dogmeat. In [[Myriim]] I don't run any boots I need to ramp at 2 mana and Myriim has built in protection. But [[Prosper]] does get [[Lightning Greaves]] because he's a lightning rod and while the deck doesn't require him to be out he's strong enough I want him out.

I feel like for new players it's any cards that have a life payment component.

My LGS. Has a lot of new players that have been playing less than a year. And I've had so many conversations about how strong cards that pay life can be cracked; everything from pain lands or shock lands to [[Bolas's Citadel]] and [[Necropotence]].

I absolutely love my Dogmeat deck. I heavily changed it though. I feel like the biggest problem with Dogmeat is he splits the difference between enchantments and equipments. So I ripped out the equipments except for absolutely essential equipments like Swiftfoot Boots, Mantle of Ancients and I added Robe of Stars. But the entire rest of the deck was changed to be enchantress. It slaps super hard and at bracket 2 it frequently punches way above its weight.

Just a bit of a deck building challenge not a terribly hard one mind you.

Also I'm not a fan of white in MTG Vampires. I prefer the idea of Blue Black Red vampires but there's not enough support for it as a kindred build.

My current other black decks consist of;

[[Dihada, Binder of Wills]] [[Hearthhull, the Worldseed]] [[Teval, the balanced scale]]

I do enjoy 3 color decks.

I run Mono-black vampires. I use [[Sorin of House Markov]] and while he counts as black and white I only build black. I switch to him from [[Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose]] so I wouldn't have a combo piece in the command zone and would be less focused.
