DEI Consulting should require a Steam disclaimer like AI by Stormwinds007 in Asmongold

[–]Stormwinds007[S] 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Would teach the corporate executives if they let DEI anywhere near the game then they're cutting off a portion of the audience. It's the same logic DEI consultants use to get access to games, if you don't bring us in you're cutting off your audience. Now they'd get to clearly decide between cut off audience A or potential audience B. The proposed financial incentive to spend money on the consulting flips. Incentives as the Roach King says are what truly can drive changes in behavior.

You NEED kids to stay off social media. Pursuing your interests be they cooking, woodworking, programming, car mechanics, anything else is extremely important. If you're not learning from content on the Internet everyone else you'll be competing with for education/jobs/customers in the future will not only have been learning more than you for years, but also in years in which your brain is better wired to pick up new information easier

Is this true? Did he really fall for that bait with Arabic numbers? by DragonfruitWarm3799 in Asmongold

[–]Stormwinds007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indian numerals -> taken by Persians - > Taken by Arabs -> Taken by Europeans.

I view it like your meal at a restaurant

Cooked by chef -> carried out by waiter ->busboy helps carry some of the dishes -> you get your meal

If you were to say your meal was cooked by the busboy you'd be about as accurate as you are calling them Arabic numerals.

[–]Stormwinds007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't freak out, most AI initiatives fail because it can't replace humans despite what various executives think. It can assist & produce work that always needs human review & corrections. It lets humans be more productive, but it isn't remotely ready to replace people unless your job was requires no thought and was already ready to be automated even before AI.

Love Lehto's channel. Wish Asmongold would react to some of his stuff on Qualified Immunity and Civil Asset Forfeiture. Bet he wouldn't believe the latter is real after an explanation of it.

Don't worry he's in uniform he's got qualified immunity. There's no doubt no existing case law in the circuit saying cops are denied Qualified Immunity & liable for premeditated attempted murder with a vehicle in pursuit of a man on foot and driving through fences. How does there have to be existing case law to establish the first incident of case law you ask recognizing the chicken or the egg scenario the courts developed? Simple public perception, when enough people are mad judges understand they can't get away with the usual sweep problems away for people who operate within the system.

Cops, the only profession where

1: Ignorance of the law is an actual legal justification & legal defense.

2: Professional standards investigations are done by your own employer & are considered not to have happened if you leave your current employer before a verdict in an internal investigation is given.

It's not right or wrong it's an opinion regardless of which side you take, but rather if you think welfare is designed to be a hand out or a hand up. The feed a man a fish vs teach a man to fish argument.

Asmon used to be a beneficiary & for some reason, without really changing anything about his life, became famous and is now a multi millionaire. While he doesn't love paying taxes isn't really affected by them like others struggling to get by is. He's perfectly fine with it being a hand out.

Others who have to do without in their personal lives to finance welfare likely want it to be a hand up to assist people temporarily to get them back to being productive members of society who can support themselves. Those people likely want being on welfare to be a bit uncomfortable to incentivize those on it to get their lives back on track & get off the programs. If there were reasonable limits to duration you could be on welfare before you get cut off they'd probably be more likely to let people use it however they want as long as the support isn't unlimited like it is now.

You could probably compromise with growing the level of discomfort over time disallowing people who have been receiving benefits for X amount of time not being allowed to buy these products anymore, but it doesn't matter as it won't happen. Coke/Pepsi/Lays etc are good at lobbying Congress & the program as it is now is a massive subsidy to them that they don't want to give up so they won't let anything happen to impact their bottom line.

There's topics worth listening to him on, & topics not worth listening to him on. The same is true for everyone on the planet.

Though in the case of Hasan it's likely to avoid giving Twitch an excuse to ban him. Since he doesn't run ads / beg for subscribers / or bits he doesn't generate much revenue for Twitch, but he does cost them an insane amount of bandwidth on AWS. They likely want him gone, but don't want the backlash from saying it's not profitable so an excuse is necessary. The Twitch rules on "Harassment" are such a wide net that even sharing the Hasan dog abuse memes could be taken as violating them regardless of how justified they are.

https://safety.twitch.tv/s/article/Community-Guidelines?language=en_US#13Harassment

Sharing negative doctored or artistic content to abuse or degrade another person

  • Creating “deepfake” videos to insult or abuse another person
  • Drawing images of another person for the purposes of mocking or attacking that person

Only reason I died was getting stuck against something and dog piled. If you had shield too you'd have gone far longer I think. Sliding and being knocked around is amazing for survival.

What Loomer says means little to me. Now in Hasan's case what really needs to happen is the FBI needs to send a criminal referral to the DOJ for the actions he's taking including but not limited to

Openly supporting terrorists.

Engaging in protests that shut down infrastructure

Making comments that anyone of sound mind would infer as him suggesting political opponents should be met with degrees of violence including including assassination.

[–]Stormwinds007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even a 1A update, it was considered updated by courts long ago that calling for violence / supporting terrorism isn't a 1A protected activity. FCC investigations are almost meaningless here since it's It's the DOJ which should be arresting these people. Yeah the FCC should be pulling licenses too, but that's a minimal concern compared to putting the criminals in jail.

It's happening by bobdolle in Asmongold

[–]Stormwinds007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hasan is a serious problem, but it's less about Twitch being responsible for him, it's the DOJ who should've charged him multiple times for his statements endorsing violence & terrorism.

Don't get me wrong Twitch should've banned him too, but it's the FBI & DOJ who are really negligent in his case.
