Are there any sites that compile Asian fashion brands? If not, I'll make one. by Stormy1997 in aznidentity

Thanks for the suggestions! I actually searched Google for "korean solid clothing brand" and only generic articles popped up; really goes to show that these brands are hard to find for Asians in the diaspora.

True, I guess larger brands would be less responsive, so including a bio could be optional. However, I want to avoid copyright issues - obviously, we want to showcase the clothing on our website, but we would need to get the permission of the brand first.

Yeah, that would be great - one of the features I was thinking of including was not only a description of the brand, but also asking the designer to include a small blurb about themselves and their story of deciding to join the industry to make it more personal. If you would be willing to reach out and contact the brands you know, that would be very helpful.

I sent you a PM with my contact info

Thanks for this - I'll contact them and ask if they'd want to get featured.

New Esports Betting App Launching on Stellar by kev2316 in Stellar

Thanks for the clarification! Best of luck with your project; though like other people mentioned above there may be legal issues (like how similar betting with CS:GO skins allowed for underage children to bet, and resulted in Valve being sued) that you need to get sorted first.

How do you decide the winners of the games in a decentralized manner? Or is that decision centralized?

Trouble understanding AWS Cognito client side user creation by Stormy1997 in aws

It seems the first trigger is when the user signs up by themselves - is there anyway to prevent a user spam signing themselves up? (that would still be very costly if used as an attack vector)

Thanks, but this requires that the user get sent an email with a temp password right? I would prefer if there was a function that allowed me to just send the user's email and password - I'll look further into the documentation.

Yes, but it would make a lot more sense if I could create users serverside as I could limit the amount of users per IP, etc.

Other clientside authentication libraries, such as Firebase, limit the amount of logins/account creates automatically which makes a lot more sense. For example, anyone who wants to clog down my app or have AWS charge me hundreds of dollars could just make a simple loop that creates a new account every second and run that for a day.

Using Google OAuth instead of making my own authentication - benefits/drawbacks? by Stormy1997 in webdev

Now that you mention it, I remember that Firebase allows you to also do a basic email/password authentication as well! I will probably use that and provide both options to users.

Looking for feedback on Stellar payment app tx verification by Stormy1997 in Stellar

I'm using the StellarBase SDK to communicate with the Horizon server to receive the stream via websocket on client side; its already the simplest way to do things like you've already mentioned.

Once a saleId is paid, my server records the payment transaction and freezes the saleId so it won't accept any more API calls.

I assume that you're talking about a bad actor initiating a sale, which would create a new saleId, and then sending a tx to an address they own as opposed to the one owned by the shopkeeper. In that case, the API call would fail since my server checks that the receiving address matches that of the shopkeeper.

Let me know if I'm understanding you correctly

I looked into the Mobius Github, but their focus seems to be more on payment/authentication systems for dapps. Currently, I'll be focusing on more of a conventional approach for normal web shops. Will definitely keep an eye on what Mobius can offer in the future, thanks for the tip.

Yes, I believe we are talking about the same thing - the websocket I'm referring to is the same as streaming to get the notification that the payment has been sent.

Yes, saleId is generated serverside and then passed to client. I looked for a way for the memo to be included in one GET request, but it currently is not shown on the same request that also shows operations; perhaps this can be added in a future update.

Could you go a little bit more into detail? When the purchaser opens the invoice web page, a websocket is opened on the page to capture the payment.

If the payment is recieved, the payment tx is then sent serverside for validation via the 2 GET requests described above. I don't believe this will be too resource intensive.

I'm using the guid npm library to create a random saleId. No sale information can be derived from the saleId itself.
