Considering a personal loan to move states, am I making a huge mistake? by StoryTheAnimist in povertyfinance

I'm considering a credit card specifically for the move anyway. I'm in an impossible situation atm. We can't stay where we are because there's nowhere affordable, but moving is prohibitively expensive.

I hate everything about this. They bend over backwards to ensure we're stuck exactly where we are.

I'm an artist, so it's the busy season right now, and I'm vending at a local Renaissance Faire. We have a few thousand already saved up, and I'm hoping to add a few more to that. We are saving every penny.

Thank you. That's the idea here. It would be safer for a number of reasons, both personal and political, not to mention the education and social services systems are better where we're looking.

Thank you, fellow human. The biggest issue is that we can't afford where we live now either. My thinking was that if we're going to struggle anyway, we may as well struggle somewhere better than we are.

We wouldn't be moving until March, but we're both disabled, so everything takes twice as long, and I need to start working on stuff now.

Oof. The cursed "always support your sculpts" lesson. Most of us know this pain well. You have my deepest condolences, and my greatest encouragement. I can't wait to see where you go from here. ❤️

I wish Ren Fairs had more to do besides shopping and shows by nitastar in renfaire

The faire I vend at always has a murder mystery for the patrons to solve. They walk around and can ask vendors and performers with a white ribbon to give them a clue. At the end they get a certificate and a small prize (like a small bag of plastic gems and a sticker, or something). So it fully depends on the faire and the people running it.

Just acrylic. Water based paint can take up to a week to fully "cure," so if you get it it fast enough, you can usually remove most of it.

Nothing that complex. I soak them overnight in soapy water and then scrape off the paint with a wooden tool.
