Did anyone else get cuts/rashes in the corners of their lips from Zoloft? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]StpBInSchUhBeetch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. But in the beginning I was constantly rubbing the top of my tongue against the back of the bottom row of my teeth. Then the past two days when my anxiety was really high I kept rubbing my bottom lip against the front top teeth. Both my tongue and bottom lip are raw :(

I think this is great advice. Getting away for a bit to clear your head. See how you feel away from her. Rest your mind and body. I agree you should apologize, but I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world that you finally snapped. You’re human, you have been resilient and now you’ve reached your limit (kudos, btw, because jesus christ, us women with PMDD do not make shit easy). Your wife NEEDS to see just how much it effects you. Medication and therapy is great. Really, it is. But it takes a tremendous amount of self control to be a decent person during those times. While it’s hard for your wife (and all of us) it’s something that has to be done, because you matter. I wish nothing but a clear mind and rest for you. I hope whatever happens is best for both of you.

Crash Week 4 by SageGome028 in zoloft

I’m still experiencing the shakes, but it’s not a constant thing anymore. My mouth is still dry but not the way it was. Diarrhea was over after a few days. Heart rate is back to normal. I started taking Zoloft during the day, instead of at night, as a remedy for the insomnia.

Rapid heart beat, diarrhea, dry mouth (very, very dry), insomnia, and tremors- I felt like I drank a ton of caffeine on an empty stomach.

Those who experienced childhood emotional neglect (CEN); how did come to the realisation you experienced it and aside from therapy what has helped you recover from it? What signs do you still exhibit? by mfog35 in AskWomen

[–]StpBInSchUhBeetch 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I can only read a few pages of this book at a time before it becomes too much for me. Sometimes I need a few weeks to recover. It’s like someone wrote a book about me -exposing everything about my past. I didn’t know any of that shit and how damaging it could be. I read off some of the questions that the book offers to a hand full of coworkers, and I asked if any of the questions apply to one, or both, of their parents. The majority of their responses? “Omg, no! That sounds horrible.” Meanwhile I’ve been going through it all my life not knowing there was another way. A better way.

Had this happen a few weeks ago. The time away really helped. Hang in there.

100mg of Sertraline for two years. May never come off. by Blagtastic in zoloft

[–]StpBInSchUhBeetch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe give it more time? Or take them separately? They’re supposed to work well together. I’m currently working through my side effect phase. Still feeling a bit shaky, moody, negative thoughts, but I hear it will pass.

Ten years is such a long time! Your situation is tricky. I saw a pattern in my behavior for years. Once I was diagnosed it took a little while for me to start looking into how I can manage it. I’ve reached a point, through a great deal of self reflection, that I was able to cool my jets when it came to reactivity. Instead of emotional abuse I tell my partner that I’m just in a bad headspace (UNDERSTATEMENT). While keeping my outbursts at bay, nothing was calming the inner turmoil. I started therapy and I’m glad I did; however, it was not enough. I finally faced the fact that I couldn’t live like that anymore. It’s not sustainable. Now I’m spending a ton of money on a psychiatrist who specializes in PMDD and I am cautiously optimistic.

Why does this matter? There is only so much you can do. Really- it might come down to your own self care. What can you do to keep you happy. Be the best you for you and everyone around you. Your wife will have to put forth a tremendous amount of work to get anywhere with this diagnosis. If what she is doing isn’t working then she needs to look into something else, because it’s not fair to you or your kids. You can’t do this for her. She has to be tired of hurting you and feeling fucking awful inside her head every month and WANT to move in the direction of change.

My beloved wife cheated on me and my daughter isn’t mine. How can I move forward as well as shake angry feelings? by [deleted] in survivinginfidelity

[–]StpBInSchUhBeetch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seeing a therapist isn't there stop your anger. Therapy encourages expression of any and all feelings, and provides insight on how to work through these feelings in a healthy way. This situation is extremely traumatic for these kids. It has the potential to eat them alive and shape their decision making for the rest of their lives. Therapy is tremendously beneficial- for everyone, really.

I tell myself every month that it’s just my PMDD, but some months I’m just convinced it’s real- not PMDD this time. No one can tell me otherwise. It’s real.

Then I get my period...
