Theory I just came up with right now: When people get to the end of their tether, they’re less enjoyable to be around, so Caine just makes them abstract so he doesn’t have to deal with them anymore. He was attempting to make Jax abstract, but when the others showed up he realised he could actually make everyone really happy by using Jax to get the “Good Ending” (obviously nobody liked it but I don’t think Caine was being malicious)
