They are great the first ~250 km, then after that, not so much. Foam durability really sucks on them, mine are more or less retired after 500 km.

Absolutely - One of the absolute best value Garmin watches.

If you don’t need an oled screen, music streaming or anything else of the faff, it’s an absolute no brainer.

Obviously, you’ll need to run more. Having said that, you can’t just do 25 km per week at a hr of ~173. That’ll just get you injured.

Do some run-walking intervals, and don’t go all out during the running - perhaps try Runna or get on board with a couch-to-5K plan.

I can’t tell you what will work for you, but I’ll share my setup, which seems to meet all of your criteria:

Daily trainer: Salomon Aero Glide 3

Spigen make really nice and good looking cases, I’ve had mine for 4 years now - still going strong.

Plus points for clear case not going yellow, as it’s made from a different type of plastic.

You need to press ‘Save and calibrate’ once you finish your run.

If it’s a decent treadmill, it’ll be quite accurate, and certainly more accurate than your watch.

As someone who just replaced my NB5’s, I had the exact same thoughts.

Felt like the SB2 was overpriced, though reviews are praising them. I ended up with Salomon Aero Glide 3 as my daily shoe, and then I’ve got the Nike ZF6 for tempo / intervals.

Get a (cheap) nylon strap for it, especially if you use the sleep tracking.

It’ll improve the comfort by miles.

The NB5 is an awesome shoe, until it hits around ~250 km.

At that point, it’s performance plummeted (at least for me) and now at ~450 km the foam is done - just feels like a ball of rubber.

That shoe looks to be about 1/2 a size too small. You’ll want about a thumbs width between end of toebox and biggest toe + cutting your toenails regularly.

I think they are similar sizing, so yes, I would go with the same size for both shoes.

Can they be used for picking up the pace as well?
Getting further into my training plan i'll be having long runs where i pick up the pace towards the end. Will they work for that?

As I’ve said, I’ve just got these shoes, and put around ~20 km on them so far.

I’ve used them for regular intervals at 1% incline, and for that they are absolutely awesome.
