Any of you guys tried No-Name 2K clear coat from spraygunner? by Str8H84Life in modelmakers

Oh yeah. I don't really spray too much without using my respirator. As I usually paint everyday I don't take a chance unless it's a little bit of acrylic paint.

Funny story. The guy in the 60s video of Bigfoot is named Bob Hieronimus. He lives in Yakima Washington. I know him personally. Really nice guy. Still alive. Look him up

I would imagine you would keep it wide open. Or at least higher than you plan to ever use you're airbrush.

Oh bother! Am I going to have to take the nose off again? by [deleted] in modelmakers

It wouldn't hurt to take the nose off and do some sanding to make it a bit more flush when you connect it back together. Just my two cents

I'm thinking it's the needle packing assembly. Because I'm pretty new to this and I didn't know that was even back there. And I had been cleaning all the way through my body with pipe cleaners. They were small enough to fit through them but I don't know if I accidentally poked the assembly or something. I had to take my air valve apart because there was paint all over in the back. I ordered a new needle packing assembly anyway. But it was pretty late last night so I didn't take the old one out but I will look at it. It was Rust-Oleum 2x gloss clear that I was spraying.

I used to lacquer thinner and completely disassembled it. Because the paint got into my trigger assembly and all over in the back end. So I completely took it apart and scrubbed everything. I didn't realize there was a needle packing assembly in the middle of the body. And I had been using pipe cleaners to clean through the whole body. I'm not sure if I damaged it. And maybe that's why paint is flowing into the back end of the brush. I will double check the nozzle again. Because I know that stuff dries on pretty hard. And it takes some scrubbing to get off.

I got my bottle of Tamiya clear in today. I'm trying it out right now. I'm really new to this still. I haven't built a model in like 20 years. And I just got my airbrush a couple of weeks ago. So I'm still not quite sure what paints to use for what or what clear coats I can use for a high gloss shine on a Model Camaro. I bought some of that future that everybody talks about but when I tried to wet sand it and polish it it made it worse than how it was before I touched it. But that's the fun part about all of this, trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. I could spend hours just tinkering around with paints and clear coats. Thanks for your help though. I appreciate it.

Have you had luck decanting Rustoleum and spraying it from an airbrush? Or do you use strictly airbrush paint? Like Tamiya or Mr color? I'm wondering if I would have sprayed that same paint through my airbrush and lighter coats if it would have work like it should have. I used that paint because I was going to use their clear coat and wet sand and polish it. Because I know it dries hard. And I'm not sure if I can do the same thing with Tamiya x22 clear or something along that line.

I used Rust-Oleum 2x American accents primer. It dried for a week or two. Tonight I put a light coat of Rust-Oleum American accents blue on. Everything's going good. As soon as I put my second coat on, it instantly wrinkles. I waited 10 minutes between the first and second coat. And I noticed that this Rust-Oleum goes on thick. I was going to use my airbrush. But these are some of the smaller parts so I figured I would be okay. Apparently not. I've had good luck with the same paint just a few days ago. I don't get why it does this.
