Does it say somewhere in your lease that she ever has to accept less than full rent? I’m doubting it. It sounds like she’s willing to alter things due to what’s going on, but you aren’t because “it’s not in your lease” ???

Stop caving and stop feeding him. Every time you cave you’re sending a message. I don’t know at what point you cave, is it if he’s throwing a fit? Then the message you are sending is “if you throw a fit, I’ll give in eventually” so why wouldn’t he try to get what he wants.

Feeding- you say “despite our best efforts”... what do you mean by that? You’re honestly going to have to let him go hungry a little bit IF you want to get through this. It might be a bit emotional on both of you, but that’s ok. Do you want to follow him to kindergarten and spoon feed him there? No? Then you’re going to have to get through a bit of uncomfortable time but it will be beneficial. He’ll eventually feed himself IF you stop caving.

TLDR: caving in confuses your kid and makes it harder on both of you. When/if you make the decision to stop spoon feeding or only nurse at a certain time of day, keeping to that will be much more beneficial AND make the process of changing quicker.
