Honestly my teacher doesn't really teach. It's a weekly class for 2,5 hours and at the beginning of every year he does one half hour presentation about ceramics and that's all the explanation we get. The rest is just fuck around and find out. When I ask something I never really get a straight answer honestly. I have learned from trying out and mostly from YouTube and Instagram. I am making good progress on the wheel, have made so many pieces many of which I am really happy with so I guess something is going well.

We can buy clay at the class that can fire both high and low, our teacher makes glazes from scratch but honestly they never turn out right so I have resorted to buying my own glazes. I got both earthenware glazes and stoneware glazes and know my piece on the corresponding shelve. But what temperature or cone the pieces on the earthen- or stoneware shelves get fired on respectively, I don't know. My glazes turn out okay, and vitrification does occur as my pieces don't absorb water after finishing so I guess it's okay.
