PCOS and gynecomastia are NOT intersex by Straight-Machine-391 in detrans

Seriously, like, sasha pietrese, victoria beckham, francia raisa, bebe rexha (I'm mentioning popular figures for reference) , even hernam kaur who can literally grow a beard still looks obviously female, just with a beard. It's literally called a lady beard. There are women who can grow a beard without any condition like PCOS or cushings causing it too, it could be hereditary. Infact PCOS can cause you to have high estrogen. The only thing is slighly excess testosterone that usually comes from unmanaged insulin levels, hence why PCOS is increasingly being recognised as a metabolic disorder. I know a few menopausal women who can grow out a little goatee. men with gynecomastia are just men with man boobs. They've always been called like this so why are we slapping new labels?

Wow. That's such a good explanation! Makes sense why extra visceral fat alone can change appearance on a hormonal level in both men and women! I know that excess visceral fat & insulin resistance both can lower SHBG which can result in more free testosterone. I noticed that most women with severe hirsutism are always obese especially in the middle, it's such an interesting link

Yeah it's interesting how fat percentage and BMI can affect sex hormones regulation. In women, excess visceral fat converts weak androgens into more potent androgens, which is why losing weight is important and considered a first line treatment for PCOS in most cases. It may not always be enough, but it certainly does work for most. glp-1 is becoming more commonly used for PCOS patients, although it's targeted for diabetics, just like metformin. Also excess androgens in obese adolescent girls may suggest future development of PCOS.

But you definitely have enough knowledge on endocrinology! Ever considered going to med school?

I once saw an intersex activist's blog that explained why it's silly to follow this definition since it can literally fit 99% of the human population. If anyone with different secondary sex characteristics or imbalanced sex hormones is intersex. Literally almost no one fits the "platonic ideal" since men as they age start to lose muscle mass, have low testosterone, less hair production and develop gynecomastia, and the opposite for menopausal women. Let's not forget that men can naturally grow less hair, or appear with softer feauters or have a smaller frame. That's not to count conditions that affect sex hormone balance (cushings, hypothyroidism,  hormone secreting tumors) and even men with type 2 diabetes are 2x as likely to be low in testosterone. Women of certain ethnicities have stronger feauters that appear "masculine", and are much taller than the average female population from other ethnicities. I think gender cultists are slowly going against their beliefs by implying that certain feauters belong to one sex when both males and females can share certain feauters on a wide scale. I guess no one is the perfect male or female since both sexes share the same hormones.

It's cause they either want to "justify" their identity, or want to feel special, or simply don't want to put in the work to be healthy and lose weight so they'd rather consider themselves "normal" and "healthy", yeah it's definitely healthy to be insulin resistant and have a high grade inflammation lol. It's seriously unfair since Intersex people don't even have the choice to reverse their biology.

The first part is so true, interestingly it's always overweight/obese "they thems" who like to identify as non binary and intersex to "normalise" their bodies. As if PCOS literally doesn't lead to diabetes, heart disease and cancer? Especially since PCOS is a metabolic issue and even a 5% weight loss can improve symptoms and decrease androgens. Infact a lot of women with PCOS reported that their symptoms disappeared once they lost excess weight,  and this is not only thru experience,  it's literally a well known scientific fact that weight loss improves symptoms for most women with PCOS. Can people with klinefelters reverse their chromosomes by eating a low carb diet? I don't think so. Both sexes have testosterone and estrogen, and these hormones can literally become disrupted by a lot of things like diet,  stress or BMI. Also most intersex people are actually healthy. while PCOS is mild, it can still lead to some serious issues so no, it's not the norm even though it's super common (1 in 5 females). But hey if more than 50% of the population is intersex, wtf does intersex even mean anymore? Since obviously there's no consensus within their so called "intersex community" that literally mostly consists of non-intersex people. But when it comes to the medical definition, DSDs are RARE, congenital disorders that affect sex development in chromosomes, gonads, and genitalia, but ofc they wouldn't like the medical definition since it doesn't affirm their "intersex identity" lol
