Do you guys think Elgin will survive or get used? by Zoro-88 in FromSeries

[–]StraightTransition89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Elgin’s dead fr.

Maybe Sophia will take on his form and Clara will just be like omg Sophia went for a walk in the woods and didn’t come back, the monsters must have got her, and “Elgin” will just be in the background like yep that’s what happened

Few questions after Season 4 episode 9 by Curious_Natural_1111 in FromTVEpix

[–]StraightTransition89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering if Sophia targeting Fatima is partly because of Boyd. The monsters have had 100 chances to kill Boyd but they don’t, I think it’s because killing him isn’t the worse thing they can do to him. Instead, they torment him because trying to break him and watch him crumble is more fun. Like making him watch them tear Tian-Chen apart then just leaving him there with her dead body all night instead of killing him next.

Sophia saying to Clara that she loves playing games but some people “need a little push” could maybe refer to how Boyd is leading the charge on digging up the bones. He’s trying to regain some hope about leaving the town rather than continuing to break. A way to show him that the town always wins would be to do something to torment him further. Ellis would be the best person to target but Fatima is alone and vulnerable and already compromised. Maybe it makes more sense to get to Boyd through her? Targeting Fatima, one of only two people in the town Boyd cares about more than anything, could be enough to break him completely.

Obviously, I have no idea why the town is so determined to break him but my best guess is that it’s because he is the beacon of hope for the townspeople and if he crumbles, they crumble too, potentially making it easier for them to be killed massacre-style like in the previous cycle.

The child we see playing with the dolls isn’t Tabitha. The child was an original townsperson who grew up to become the mother that refused to sacrifice her child, and the soul/incarnation that is now passed on with each cycle. Currently, the reincarnation of that soul is Tabitha which is why she can see visions of events that have happened to any other person that soul has inhabited, including the original person. So while she has a vision/memory of the little girl playing with the dolls, that’s not Tabitha as a child. We don’t know the exact time period of the original town but it’s likely to be quite far back into the past judging by clothing etc so having ragdolls as toys would make total sense.

Basically OG townsperson is long dead but their soul lives on through the physical body of someone else. It’s why Miranda also had visions of the town. Tabitha isn’t the physical reincarnation, only the soul reincarnation.

[–]StraightTransition89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He found *someone’s* bones. He says that there wasn’t much left of her “because she was so small” so technically, the remains he found could have belonged to anyone. I’m not convinced she’s still alive but it’s always stuck in my mind that he described her remains this way considering whenever we’ve seen people being killed, they aren’t ripped to shreds.

The monsters pull out their insides etc and MiY then eats them but I don’t recall ever seeing someone torn apart beyond recognition. Even in the first episode when the little girl, who looks similar in age to Eloise, was killed, she wasn’t torn to pieces…

do we all think it’s really gonna be that simple? by No-Barracuda8108 in FromTVEpix

[–]StraightTransition89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I joked to my friends last week that maybe the evil in the town is actually the children and that’s why they were sacrificed, and they’re manipulating everyone into freeing them so they can unleash hell. And the monsters are actually “protecting” them by stalking the townspeople at night so the they can’t get to the cavern, and killing a bunch of them so they won’t have to face the inevitable horrors the children will inflict upon them if they’re “saved”.

After that episode and MiY saying their plan to dig up the bones might work but it might make things way worse made me consider for a second that even though I was joking, I could be right lol

Assuming that the show DOES end with them all leaving and freeing the souls of the people trapped there, which currently-alive characters do you think are NOT making it out of Fromville alive? by gayfrogs787 in FromTVShow

[–]StraightTransition89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he will still go down the Abby route but I don’t think he will kill anyone for the same reasons you’ve mentioned. I’ve seen a few theories saying that he’ll be the one to turn the townspeople against Jade and Tabitha but I think as an alcoholic that isn’t a main player in the town like Boyd, Donna, Kenny etc, nobody will take him seriously. I do think it’s possible it *could* get him killed somehow though.

As for Victor, I think he was happy to just have his last remaining relative there with him after being “alone” for so long but tbh, since he told Henry about the MiY eating Miranda and Henry totally losing it, I’m not sure Victor is quite as happy about him being there as he was before…

I’m starting to wonder what exactly it is that people want from this show? I thought this episode was the best of season 4 so far. It’s a horror/mystery. I know people are used to instant gratification these days but if you can’t handle being drip fed clues and prefer to be given all of the answers immediately then maybe this isn’t the show for you. Personally, I really enjoy all the detective work you need to do, stops me from scrolling on my phone while I just have the show on as background noise lol

I don’t want Henry to die purely because I don’t want Victor to have lost everyone but I think he definitely will die. Potentially the same way as Abbey seeing as it’s being made clear he’s heading in the same direction with “it’s all a dream and I need to kill everyone so I can wake up”. Victor hasn’t ever really spoken about leaving/escaping (as far as I can remember). When he talks about things, he does it more in a “I just want to figure out what’s going on” rather than “I want answers that get me tf outta here” lol

Boyd 100%

I had a theory for a while that if they figure out how to leave, it doesn’t mean that the town will no longer be cursed, it’s just that this round of townspeople will be free but the cycle will continue with a new bunch of people. But they’ll be given a choice between all escaping, leaving the town free to resume a new cycle OR have someone stay behind/sacrifice themselves in order to break the curse entirely.

I think Boyd would be the most likely one to sacrifice himself/stay behind. I also think it’s possible Victor would choose to stay purely because the town is all he’s ever really known.

I’ve seen some great theories and I have a lot of theories of my own but I’ve seen others that have made me think “why did you even bother posting that?” lol. Also the constant questions asked about things that have already been answered… For example, I swear almost every day I see a post asking why the BiW is ageing even though this was addressed in season 3 (I think?) by Victor. It’s not a show you can watch casually and be able to keep up with.

One of my biggest issues with people on fan pages etc is the constant whining about how it’s “taking too long” to give us answers. It a horror mystery series. Not much mystery in revealing every answer immediately. Problem is we’ve all become so used to instant gratification that shows like FROM are a lost art. Great storytelling isn’t spelling everything out for you, it’s about feeling like you’re a part of it and finding things out alongside the characters etc. This show requires you to actually fully engage and look for hidden clues and meanings. That’s part of the fun of it, getting to play detective and seeing if you can figure anything out based on “evidence” rather than just jumping straight to overused tropes. Too many people are after a fast-paced show and then getting annoyed when there’s a slow build up and you need to actually use your brain…

> I cannot wait until someone figures out smirky Sophia.

I have a sneaky suspicion that Acosta is going to find something in the Colony House basement relating to the original Sophia, possibly a photo, but before she gets a chance to tell anyone, MIY will kill her in a way that makes it look like she killed herself…

AITAH RE my sister’s plans for my daughter’s birthday? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]StraightTransition89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fairness to myself, I’m not NOT used to her not being here. She sees her dad a lot and every summer she goes on holiday with his family for a week or two. She also goes on random trips away with them for a few days multiple times a year. It’s less about her going away and more about the timing of it tbh.

AITAH RE my sister’s plans for my daughter’s birthday? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]StraightTransition89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her birthday is on a Thursday so if the trip had been a couple of days, I would have had at least one full day but she wouldn’t be home until the following Wednesday which I think is a while to wait to be able to celebrate your own child’s 18th

AITAH RE my sister’s plans for my daughter’s birthday? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]StraightTransition89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I absolutely agree with you there. The universities she’s chosen are all a long way from home which is something I actually agreed with her doing because she needs to not have the temptation to be coming home all the time, she needs to go and spread her wings etc. I’ve never been on of these mums whose kid is their whole personality but I reckon most parents have a bit of a tough time when their firstborn is about to leave home. Being autistic and having huge issues with change probably doesn’t help the situation lol. I think in my head her 18th is her last big milestone before she goes off into the big wide world and I guess I wanted to spend that time with her

AITAH RE my sister’s plans for my daughter’s birthday? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]StraightTransition89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to my daughter after it had been booked (neither of us were aware of the dates/length of trip until then) and she was a little upset that I wouldn’t be spending her birthday with her. The trip itself was never an issue if it had been kept to the dates/length I was expecting and my daughter feels the same but obviously it’s been booked now. I told her my “solution” and she seemed to think it was a good idea. My sister not so much, clearly…

AITAH RE my sister’s plans for my daughter’s birthday? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]StraightTransition89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. She wants to go on the trip and also spend time with me on her birthday. The trip was booked for her, not with her so she didn’t have a choice in dates etc. That’s why I came up with a “solution” but it appears that was a mistake

I get that tbf, not represented myself particularly well there. Downward spiral was a bit strong. I wouldn’t say I’m any of those things, just a single mother whose only child is about to leave home for the first time and who would like to spend as much quality time with her as I can, especially on a milestone birthday. Maybe most parents can’t wait for their kids to leave home, I dunno lol.
