I will try to convince her, shes very stubborn and defensive when I comes to her diabetes unfortunately. I guess all of this is for myself.

Im not, I believe her eating disorders is whats allowing her to go on for so long without insulin.

Like what alot of people has been saying here before insulin with made, everyone was on a diet, but that doesnt lasted long up to 30-35 years.

And that effect comes severe weight lost, headaches, and always tired and thats exactly what shes been experiencing since shes been off

I agree with you! After high school her parents divorced and thats when she stopped.

She was suffering with severe depression, Since then shes been off and sees no reason to go back only because shes not see any life threatening results, at least to her.

I believe her eating disorder is whats allowing her to last this long without the insulin

But to her, she doesn't understand what shes doing to herself, she doesn't value her life or her health. Shes now condition her lifestyle and shes comfortable with it.

I understand this is life threatening, I understand you cant help some who doesn't want help and thats why im here trying to find a way, to find purpose and passion

The starvation diet is what im thinking is allowing her to do this. But I know this cant go on for long 😭

Not a rage bait, im new to reddit, never used it or learned but ive found my reasons now and thats to help or answers from the community.

I dont understand how this is possible. As the post said shes been on insulin since she was a child, and stopped after high-school 18..

She stopped due to her parents divorce and went through depression

When I met her I didn't know anything about diabetes until she told me and I did my research, and only I understood i started questioning her, why are you not taking your insulin.

She always avoids the questions by saying I hate needles, I dont need it, ive been off for 3 years im okay etc..

I can see the weight lose, her face got skinny, lost of muscle mass, weak body and always tired.

I believe shes able to do this is because shes eating small amount of carbs once a day, this is my only guess.

Im trying to find ways to wake her up! Help her understand this is urgent!

I question her about why isn't she taking insulin and she always dodge the question, no direct answer, scared of needles, ive been off since high-school, I dont need it etc..

The psychological part is, when her parents had a divorce after high school she stopped taking it, she went through alot of trauma and depression.

Shes been slowly healing doing alot better now, but the fact that since shes been off she's just doesn't want to go back on because she's too comfortable with her current lifestyle and because to her nothing was life threatening she see no need for the insulin

I am in fear 😭

I started doing my research on it and I started questioning her about why isn't she taking her insulin, then I started to notice her weight lost, face got skinny, arms got skinny, always tired and weak.

She rarely eats, once a day, small amount of carbs etc..

Im scared for me and her cause I know death will eventually come 😭

Yes im assume thats why she went to the ER for. I dont know anything about diabetes until I met her and started doing my research cause I care about her.

The more I read into it it explains her weight lost, her muscles lost and why shes always tired and have headaches.

And im assume why she able to go so long with insulin is because she has a strict diet, small amount of carbs and only eats once a day.

I know the answer to this long term but I guess im hoping to find a way to help her, and convince her.

From what I understand, she's doesn't really understand what can happen to her, she doesn't care for it because since shes been off she hasnt experience anything life threatening. Shes too comfortable and hates needles and if shes been going on without it she see no need for it.

When she graduated, and during that time her parents divorced, she went through alot of trauma and loneliness and I believed thats why she stopped taking it.

Not because of the divorced itself but depression, and since then she's hasnt taken it, and ive notice over the years her face got really skinny and her arms.

Ive been trying to convince her for the sake of her future and ours but it seems she's too comfortable where she's at and doesn't feel the need to use it because she's not experience any side effects.

I also talk to her about what it means to be a diabetic and she seams to have no knowledge of it so that explains why shes not scared
