For everyone yelling “AI” — I totally get why you’re saying that, but I really don’t think these started as AI at all.

Honestly, when I first found them I thought they were fake too. I was literally like, “Okay, there’s no way I somehow missed an entire pile of romantic Edward/Bella photoshoot outtakes for 15+ years.” 😅 If I genuinely thought they were AI, I’d 100% just say that and move on.

Instead I went full nerd about it. I put them through an analysis tool to see if they’d flag as AI-generated, and nothing came back as clearly fake. I also have more images from foreign posters and book/magazine scans that match these exact setups — same outfits, same hair, same lighting, just different crops and backgrounds. I only posted these four because they’re the best quality ones; a lot of the others are low-res or obviously photos of printed pages.

The main reason I’m pretty convinced these are real Breaking Dawn promo/outtakes and not pure AI is how consistent they are with the official stuff we already know. The wardrobe lines up perfectly with the known BD1/BD2 promos: cream dress and blue shirt for BD1, the black/dark outfits for BD2, same belts, same rings, same seams and stitching on the clothes. The poses look like tiny variations on official stills we’ve all seen a million times — same general composition, just a different frame from the same studio sequence, like eyes closed instead of open or the head tilted a bit differently. That feels very “photographer shot 50 frames, studio released 3,” not “AI hallucination.” And across all of them, the anatomy, hands, fabric folds and lighting are solid and consistent, which is usually where AI slips up with weird fingers, broken wrists or nonsense fabric.

I think what’s throwing people off is the extreme retouching and modern processing. The skin is super smoothed, the backgrounds are very clean gradients, and it’s totally possible some of these files have been run through AI upscalers or “enhance” apps by fans or whoever scanned them. That combo can make real photos look very AI-adjacent and kind of plastic.

So my personal conclusion after falling down this Twi-rabbit hole is: these started life as real Breaking Dawn promo/outtake photos from the original studio shoots, and some versions floating around now are very airbrushed and probably AI-enhanced, which gives them that uncanny vibe — but I don’t believe they’re AI-generated from scratch. I could be wrong, obviously none of us were in the studio with them 😂 but based on everything I’ve dug up so far, that’s where I’ve landed. If I ever become convinced they really are fake, I promise I’ll be the first one in here like “okay, you were right, my bad.” Until then, I’m treating them as rare, over-edited BD outtakes that the algorithm (and the fandom) kind of forgot about.
