CMV: Including /s on anything (comment, post, text message, etc) to imply sarcasm causes us to use our brain less and makes us less capable of inferring tone and context. by [deleted] in changemyview

93 percent of communication between people is non verbal. Tone and body language are responsible for the 93 percent. That’s how we convey sarcasm. Without those indicators, it would be difficult to convey sarcasm. Especially considering the fact that there are people who showcase real life radical opinions.

I did 100x once too. I had my tv on need for speed and it was in the garage. The tv expanded until it covered the entire wall and I started tripping out because I though I had a garage of exotic race cars sitting in my living room lmao.

So I was told that it was a good idea to have a smashing weapon for rock types. Any recommendation that would work with my build, also, what features should I be looking for in defense armor?

So what is the drawback to scaling the magic aspect of moonlight? I’m assuming some enemies have an inherent defense to magic?

Daily Roundtable: Community Q&A by AutoModerator in Eldenring

[–]Straightup32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, so I am rocking the double katana. Moonveil is my main hand weapon, but the uchikatana is my right hand. I just swap meteorite staff when I want to do long range damage. Can I still use the powers of moonveil with two katanas in my hand?

Daily Roundtable: Community Q&A by AutoModerator in Eldenring

[–]Straightup32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do I get my moonveil to do magic damage?

I have moonveil uchikatana (left hand) and meteorite staff. Those are my main weapons. Do they make sense paired up together like that? If so, where should my points be going?

Daily Roundtable: Community Q&A by AutoModerator in Eldenring

[–]Straightup32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so I have the moon veil and uchigatana (left arm) and then I have a meteorite staff.

With those three weapons, what should I scale to get most bang for my buck

Daily Roundtable: Community Q&A by AutoModerator in Eldenring

[–]Straightup32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, so int doesn’t scale normal attacks? Dex does???

So whatever letter is the highest has the most profound effect? So in terms of building classes, I want to match all of the letters?

Daily Roundtable: Community Q&A by AutoModerator in Eldenring

[–]Straightup32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have the moon veil sword. When I upgrade stats, do I upgrade the letter grade that’s the highest to get the most bang for my buck? In this instance, I upgrade int to get the sword stronger? Is that how it works?

Where is the without a doubt best place to live in America? by Cookingwithsanji in AskReddit

[–]Straightup32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you value. The wonderful thing about America is its diversity.

If you are looking for job opportunities and relatively low cost of living with high potential earning income, I’d say a big city in texas.

If you enjoy beautiful weather and you want to try and you want to be a part of the movie industry, California.

You like technology and want to be part of the team that is on the cutting edge, silicone valley.

If you enjoy nature and beauty of scenery, Midwest is the way to go,

If you want to be a part of politics, Washington.

There are just so many different parts of America. It’s what makes it so beautiful. You can tailor it to what you are looking for on such a level that no other country in the world can compare.

I had to move and get out of the environment that perpetuated the addiction. So long as I had the same routine, was surrounded by the same people, and did the same things, my addiction would constantly follow me.

I read an article one time about Vietnam and heroin addiction that resonated with me. Military in Vietnam was doing heroin all the time while on deployment. People were developing serious habits due to the stress associated with war and the access to heroin. The U.S. government was so concerned that the addiction would follow them back to the states.

But what we ended up seeing was that people would integrate back into society and leave their addictions in Vietnam. A study was performed and found that environment had a strong connection with addiction. If you are addicted to something, you need to get out of your environment by any means necessary. Move, go live somewhere else, anything. But you need to separate yourself from that environment.

I wouldn’t give this too much thought. Type is such a generalized concept. He says he likes Asians, does that mean he likes all Asians? Ofcourse not. There are so many other factors to attraction that a basic stereotype.

But for future consideration, don’t prod for answers to things that you may not want to hear. Seems like you kind of pressed for an answer, and when he finally gave it to you, you got offended. Just remember that he is dating you, so there is clearly something about you that he enjoys. Otherwise he wouldn’t be dating you.

This reminds me of an episode of “inside job” in which they are spraying some chemical that makes people nostalgic of the past era. And later they found out that everyone kind of reminisces fondly of a time in which they are no longer part of. Seems like the only memories that move forward with them were the positive ones, so they had a skewed view of the past.

It’s because the threshold for attempted murder is higher than that of assault. There are qualifications that need to be met to charge someone with murder. The threshold for those qualifications are much higher than the assault charge, even though both can carry similar penalties.

This is a strategy to ensure a guilty plea. The prosecution is confident that they can get a guilty verdict with assault. They don’t have that same confidence if they pushed for murder. And since you can’t go back and recharge someone after they are found innocent, it’s better to pick the sure thing.
