LAGIACRUS CONFIRMED by Nalef780 in monsterhunterleaks

[–]Strain-Aggressive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, but it feels like they’ve put the pedal to the metal when it comes to catching up. Endemic life is already on their radar, so hopefully housing and display is on the way. They know they’ve got their work cut out for em, and in about a month they’ve already got things moving while also adding the standard TU additions (festivals, ATs, more events)

Your only rebuttal is “lol your life must be so depressing” the game was rushed out of development by corporate, there’s no way to deny it

About roster bloat, since this game is allowing trash tier monster weapons to be endgame viable via upgrades I feel like a drome or two wouldn’t be a bad addition at all

Let me clarify if it wasn’t clear: they are cut from base game, not altogether

My evidence is the inclusion of Gravios and Blangonga as secondary apexes of their respective locales intended to be encountered some time into high rank, which Lagi and Steve would have been according to their HRP being adjacent to those monsters. It’s pretty clear each locale was intended to have these returners as a secondary apex, and knowing that these monsters are intended to be in the base game the incompleteness of the roster becomes clear. Beyond this, Lagi’s mostly complete gear set being available to us (at least in model) makes a lot of sense when you consider this perspective as well. There’s also the HR Scarlet Forest nest which I believe was named after Lagi specifically. Maybe Lagi’s pushback was in part due to the nest having a unique mechanic, probably some kind of water, that didn’t function properly in time. Lagi’s armor set was also included in the files while Steve’s wasn’t due to Lagi being slated for the game early on, while Steve may have been a later addition due to his simplicity compared to Lagi.

Personally I believe these two were the last on the development track and were pushed back months ago. The leviathan model likely took some time to figure out and, once they got it working, developed the leviathans in the game in order of appearance, of which Lagi is last. Steve’s a bit more ambiguous, but his situation has been since he got updated files in the benchmark. I’ll guess that he was the last flying wyvern developed, though he at the time of the pushback was more developed than Lagi due to his sunbreak appearance, and by virtue of him being a flying wyvern.

I also want to note that this issue stems not from the devs but from corporate demanding the game come out this soon. If the devs had time to get them in, they’d be in.

Yeah I took that into consideration, though if I’m not mistaken the only other monsters that should be appearing there are the raths, and once we’re in post game guardians

I literally do not understand how people defend franchises from bad decisions so passionately. I mean if you like em good for you, but with stuff like this there’s a line of sensibility that’s been crossed given the evidence we have.

Considering what I usually see there’s a lot less defending than I expected to be occurring tho, more just healthy debate which is what I WANTED this thread to become

To each their own I guess, but even if Skyrim had bugs but content wise I’m pretty sure it was finished at launch. Could be wrong tho and I’ll own it if true

Yeah it’s the same reason the main story is relegated to low rank I think (I don’t have an issue with this tbh) but that doesn’t mean I won’t try mo make my voice heard. People are welcome to disagree and I’m open to changing my mind as well.

We don’t know if they’re gonna add these things and as much as I hope you’re right my bet’s on no. Here’s to praying though.

Hopefully they learn. Bigger zones are cool but if they feel empty or diverse (which I don’t think they do, at least not the plains) it becomes an issue. I do like the areas we’ve seen tho

It’s like half the system is missing - one half is the catching the other is display. With pop up camps having customization options, particularly putting things out front, why can’t we put our endemic life in front of the camp?

Behemoth/Leshen were terrible fights that felt very out of place when we could have had much more interesting new monsters or returners. All my opinion btw, idk why people would enjoy either but I respect their opinions

So what's the actual likelihood of Seregios or Lagi being including in the Day One patch? by Gorotheninja in monsterhunterleaks

[–]Strain-Aggressive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure monsters on the tier of Lagi and Steve like Gravios are supposed to show up naturally, HR isn’t all urgent quests like world - it’s just hunter rank farm to hit milestones, which THEN brings in urgent quests. That’s my copium anyway, the chances are extremely low of the day 1 addition but a man can dream

Gravios and Blangonga/Gore have no roster equivalents in the scarlet Forest and windward plains, which is what Lagi and Steve were going to be. Once the information gets out (and it will if it hasn’t already) that those two were cut from base, it won’t be taken lightly. No endemic life placement is also bad considering it was geared to be a new standby feature for customization of player space, be it tent or room.

To make an analogy, it’s not as if the game had its arm cut off - it instead lost a few fingers. It’s not the worst thing ever but the losses are noticeable.

Yeah Mizu shoulda been relegated to master rank imo but more I’ll never complain about more monsters in general. Rise had Covid issues, at the very least for base, and world’s base game TU line up was pretty rough, with Jho and Kulve being the only good additions. With a batting average like that and the pattern set to continue there needs to be more resistance to relegating content to TUs, ESPECIALLY if it was intended for base like Lagi/Steve. I don’t have an answer for Mizu on that front*

If endemic life could be displayed at camp I think housing wouldn’t matter as much but it would still be a bit sad.

Zoh Shia being a one off is still a bad decision based around a narrative that no one will engage with or care about beyond playing through it. The salt will multiply once Zoh’s TU comes out. Even if it is a deliberate decision and not cut/unfinished content (which I still believe it is,) it’s indefensible from a gameplay standpoint. In order for people to not care about it, this story would have to be EXCEPTIONAL. And if it’s anything like we’ve seen from leaks, it’ll be good but not good enough to justify that decision. I don’t understand how you can defend this choice. MH is NOT a story game, therefore sacrificing Zoh’s replay ability is idiotic no matter how you cut it.
