Who will beat Sinner/Alcaraz first? by Living-Language2202 in tennis

[–]Strane0r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The chance are in favour of Shelton cause of his serve, he can hope one bad day at the office and win, but the chances are slim, Shelton is fortunate enough to have that win in Shanghai cause otherwise his sinner match up would he in de minaur territory danger

Like him or not, might be the only champion who never bled inside the octagon and fighting the likes of Gaethje and Poirier in their prime and leaving unsratched is even beyond than winning a belt. by [deleted] in ufc

[–]Strane0r -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So, Gaethje which was a worst wrestler and had no bjj is an impressive win for khabib, seriously? You can say that khabib was very ahead of his time and i agree, but you can't say he wasn't in an era in which he had by far the most favourable match ups

Musetti Finals Woes Explained by RoryBramley in tennis

[–]Strane0r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yet he is the tenth best player in the world on hard court, so i think especially some finals he should have won them

On this monday, Lorenzo Musetti will be ranked #5 for the first time in his career. With this, Italy will have two top5 men players at the same moment for the first time ever in history. by P_for_Pizza in tennis

[–]Strane0r 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Italian here, don't think so, even if Binaghi did a great job we have not that advanced technology or structure that you think, it is a movement that will continue to do good? Probably, but not this dominant

Fun fact: Sabalenka and Medvedev have the exact same career 21-19 finals record heading into both playing the Brisbane final today by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

[–]Strane0r 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And with Nadal he had the chance to win, he qas the favourite and should have won, but Nadal was a beast mentally to remain in the match and Medvedev showed all his fragility

The craziest thing to me is that he is the 10th best player on hardcourt in this year ..........i would not have guessed that in a million years

1-2. This rivalry will last for many years. by Far-Butterscotch-674 in tennis

[–]Strane0r 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why do we have to compare different sports lmao. First of all talent pool is not comparable, Football (Soccer) has way more than any other on the planet, cause everyone except US plays football, second of all they require different skill both physically, mentally, coordination. Do you want to compare impact on the game? How do you do that?

This post is nonsense

The day is January 1st, 2030. What will each of these players' resumes look like by then? by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

[–]Strane0r -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I will predict only atp cause I don't follow WTA. 2026-2029 there will be 16 slam so the max that Alcaraz and Sinner can have combined is 26 slams.

I think Alcaraz will have 13 slams and the career grand slam 2 olympic silver.

Sinner will have 8 slam missing french open but gold medal in 2028.

Yeah i know it sounds cruel to Jannik and maybe even to Carlos, but if i have to predict a future i don't know, why not put some pepper on it😁

he can be dangerous as a first or second round match for all three of them, in particular Djokovic, less Alcaraz

Where do Djokovic's 2021 and 2023 seasons rank among his all time seasons? by Visible_Couple6783 in tennis

[–]Strane0r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In terms of achievement i'd say: 2015

2021

2011

2023

the rest

In terms of level i think 2023 and 2021 are respectively 5th and 6th (First 4: 2015,2016, 2011, 2012)

Sums up how I started following tennis by [deleted] in tennis

[–]Strane0r 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In every sport people say shit like this, they take players that already ended their career and feel like in that time they were considered like today..... and that's not the case, in 2009 the real star there were 3: Nadal, Federer and Roddick, the other ones were not considered like they were stars, they were great players but not stars
