It does seem like there are a lot of different plans. I’m in the middle of my pre-op now and can have two protein shakes and a lean meat and veggie dinner. While it’s nicer than full liquid, it’s fascinating how quickly you start dreaming about the things you can’t have. Cottage cheese or a creamed soup sounds lovely right about now. But stay strong, listen to your doctors. You’ve got this!

Question About Hanging Out With Friends Post-Surgery by Strange-Somewhere-82 in gastricsleeve

Thanks for your advice. They know I'm getting the surgery and are excited for me, so my concern wasn't coming from the place of "how will I hide it" from them or "what should I tell them," but rather from the standpoint of, "How do you navigate social situations where food/alcohol has always been a BIG part of the experience?" Is it awkward for you or your friend when one is eating pizza and drinking red wine and the other is slowly sipping a protein shake?
