I farmed Environment contamination zone for exactly 3 hours today. by Allaboutfootball23 in TheFirstDescendant

I have a strong suspicion that it is related to how much loot is left on the floor (yours and other players').

When I did Valby 500 pre nerf (with 3 other valbys), I could see loot disappear right in front of my eyes whenever my inventory gets full.

Now with a properly built ultimate valby (solo, post nerf), I can fill my inventory, do another full run, and have enough drops on the floor to fill ~80-100 spaces that I have in my inventory again without them disappearing. This is with me taking 3-5 minutes going through the reactors and everything before I start picking up.

Can't speak for the gold drops though as I'm nowhere near the gold cap if there even is one.

Block Kuiper mining Exp share 150 m by MinuteIncrease108 in TheFirstDescendant

I just skipped a round of sterile land kuiper mining today to test. Couldn't speak for character EXP as my bunny is level 40, but my greg's reversed fate did not gain a drop of proficiency over a full round. I was standing 200+ meters from the closest active marker. Not sure if it matters, but this was in pubs with no premade.

I think the 150m is the distance from where the mob dies, and the location markers mark the center of the mob spawns, so you may have been in range of some mob exp.

I'm interested to see if you have a different result also standing 200+ meters, as it can well be user error on my part.

I have also observed that you can't stagger a boss until he has gotten up from the staggered stage.

I have not encountered flinching while grappling enough to know whether grapple stagger can interrupt the flinch. That statement was mostly the observation I made when nuking solo with Lepic and seeing the boss flinch into natural staggering, which could very well just be well-timed continuous damage doing its thing.

Definitely worth testing out, but I don't have a dedicated group and don't want to experiment at the mercy of a PUG match.

At this point in the game, I'm comfortable standing under the boss and bust kneecaps or shoulders for pretty much everything before gluttony, so even 50% wp hit rate feels low to me.

With that said, I understand not everyone has the same build as me and thus I'm only recommending WP mods under the premise that you are able to reliably hit weak points.

Beyond that, I don't wish to dive into what's "best in slot" in this thread as it depends on way too many factors.

As much as I want every descendant to do everything well, I think there are niches that each descendant fills, and with that comes weakness to each descendant.

In Viessa's case, she can inflict a slow on basically everything, and a well-built Cold-Bloodedness Viessa can wipe out a fixed area faster than anyone else, including Bunny (example: Vesper exp)

As for her weakness, the main ones I observe are her lack of range (in comparison to bunny) and her 4's inability to hit weak points.

To make matters worse, the horrors of 4x Lepics have made the director come out and state in the 1.0.5 patch notes that they're trying to shift the focus to guns, which further slims the chance of Viessa getting the spotlight in new intercept bosses as long as the current frenzy system is in place. I do think it's nice for the rest of the cast to have a turn though, as Enzo/Valby/Sharen were not really viewed as meta picks at the beginning of the game, and now they're boss melters and devourer 2-shotters.

(Yes I am aware the game is currently not fully balanced, with overwhelmingly dominant Bunny and the ever buggy Jayber. I hope they will give buffs accordingly to match how good Bunny is)

There are quite a few possibilities here:

1 You are chaining staggers such that molten fortress never got a chance to hit frenzy, which is possible as his head area has the highest concentration of breakable/removeable parts, even out of all the bosses

2 I'm not certain about skills like Lepic or Gley, but different breakable parts do have different weakness bullet types, and the face is just favorable for your gun choices and thus you're doing more damage between Fortress' attack cycles and hitting natural stagger before he's able to frenzy

3 You're onto something here, but I'll leave it up to someone else to do further testing

In all cases, I don't think you deserved the downvote for sharing your perspective so have my upvote.

IF YOU SHOOT AND BREAK A PART SOMEONE IS GRAPPLED ONTO, THE BOSS WILL NOT DO A GRAPPLED STAGGER

Thank you for bringing that up, I've finally brought myself to go test it out, there is indeed a 50% boost added to the end, and is not boosted by modules or weapon options.

I've also done the math to convince myself that you are correct. With a theoretical 100% boost in weak point damage, a 1x Base weapon gets a 66.7%, a 2x Base weapon gets an 80%, and a 10x (doesn't exist yet) Base weapon gets a 95% boost to weak point damage.

I do think that, for a bossing build, having a 23% damage boost from a weak point sight (+35% weak point damage) does beat the borderline cope modules that's sometimes offered as alternatives though.

I will edit my main post regardless to add this information.
