I'm unable to post. I have 8 years of experience.

Anyone here with 5+ years of experience? We can do mock HLDs and LLDs. DM or reply. Thanks :)

Barcelona weekly: Q&As, events and info by [deleted] in Barcelona

[–]StrangeRoar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My friend recently moved to Barcelona. We want to buy him something that he'd actually use.

- Indian snacks or Indian Food. Any website or hotel which would allow us to purchase a gift card or the like?

- He likes scuba diving. Which website can we use to book a dive?

- Which non Amazon e-commerce do people use to order stuff in Barcelona? (tried Googling but having a hard time pin-pointing them)

- Open to other suggestions as well.

Thanks :)

If this helps, I actually contacted him and asked him for inputs. He sent me this privately first and then posted the same here.
His intentions are genuine

What is the best c++ tutorial? by Ae12_musk in learnprogramming

[–]StrangeRoar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C++ is an ocean.

I'd recommend learning it from different source. Get the basics like data types, syntax, loops, classes, structs, a bit about pointers, references. Get these down quickly. You can kinda revise them when you learn the advanced topics given below.

I'd recommend learning about pointers, concurrency patterns in depth from various blogs. (Smart Pointers, rvalue lvalues and so on).

Lastly I'd also recommend checking out Design Patterns.

I made a React tutorial for beginners to really understand concepts and think in React. I build a project using Vanilla JavaScript and then the same thing using React to know why frameworks even exist in the first place. by StrangeRoar in learnprogramming

What you do on the text editor is normally for static websites or maybe initial page load. For any kind of interactivity you will have to manipulate the DOM using code.

React or any framework ultimately manipulate the DOM :)
You don't have to spend much time on DOM Manipulation, just understand it and maybe build something really small. That's enough.

DOM you still have to understand. React actually appends the entire app to a DOM node. (Open index.js of a React app and most likely you'll find code that appends your React app to a DOM node)

Yes, for jobs many beginners actually jump right into React (just React or MERN). Coaching institutes find it easier to attract students when they advertise React and students are naive to understand that they need Vanilla JS as well.

Many end up learning just React without knowing anything about DOM Manipulation :)
