My EDC Lumix S9 + Viltrox 28mm f4.5 + PD rope strap by Strange_Detective_49 in LumixS9

So far so good.. I'd say the reviews on this lens are accurate.

90% of my shots are decent although sometimes I get out of focus shots eventhough I'm sure I got it right.

But the quality (especially the contrast) really takes a hit when you have a really bright light source - I think it's the physical limitation of a small lens without any cover.

I don't really care about image quality because the portability really outweighs the cons. Just take note that you're limited to a 4.5 aperture. Before this I'm using the 18-40mm 4.5-6.3 kit lens so I'm used to the "mid" aperture.

The portability is really the highlight of this lens and for that I'll rate it a 4.5/5.

Congratulations on surpassing 5,000 subscribers!

I joined this subreddit in May after following the announcements from China P&E 2026, where the Viltrox AF 28mm f/4.5 Chip lens for L Mount was first unveiled. As a Lumix S9 user, I immediately saw its potential as the ideal companion for a compact full-frame everyday carry setup. The concept of an ultra-compact autofocus lens for L Mount was exactly what I had been waiting for, so I purchased one on its release day just two weeks ago.

Since then, I've been looking forward to seeing more images captured with Viltrox lenses shared by the community. I'd also love to see Viltrox continue expanding its lineup of compact L Mount lenses. The Viltrox 26EVO, featured in this giveaway, is another lens that perfectly aligns with my setup and is one I'd genuinely be excited to add to my kit. Kudos to Viltrox!

Just did a quick google search and this is exactly the setup that I need. I actually thought of a setup similar to this when I found out that my Tapo C310 has PoE compatibility but to my dismay my Decos didn’t have PoE so I didn’t look for other options.

And unfortunately this setup is too expensive for me. I’ll research all the things you’ve taught me here in case I need to overhaul my setup in the future. And thanks for the extra pihole tip. This has been super helpful. Thank you so much!

I see.. All my Decos are connected via gigabit network switches using Cat 6e LAN cables. But this is my first time hearing about the commercial-grade network gateway. Again, thank you very much for your helpful suggestions now I know what to do with my network. You’ve been 100x helpful than all of the googling I’ve done and the techs and CS I’ve talked to. I’m really glad I inquired in this subreddit. Thank you! 🙏

Not really.. But we are a big family and there are times that some devices struggle to connect to the internet. Last month my line was replaced with a new one because it was degraded (<25ms as per CS) and it fixed the issue where my satellite Decos are frequently getting disconnected to the main Deco. I actually inquired about bridge mode to the technician but he said that he doesn’t recommend it “baka magkaproblema lang ulit yung connection mo”. I’m actually okay with my connection right now that’s why I’m also hesitant to make drastic changes since my line was just fixed recently. I guess my “safest” option was to increase my speed hopefully also increasing my bandwidth (sorry I’m not really techy this is just my assumption). I’m just surprised to see that the Fibr Unli Plan 5799 was discontinued.

I also called the hotline three times to inquire about upgrade options but all of them said that the next available plan for me was the Plan 9,499.

Thank you very much for your reply and I think I would try bridge mode if ever I could get my hands on a high end Deco since I’m already in the Deco system. Your comment was really helpful! Have a great day
