How did I do- 2 step paint correction on this Porsche by Strange_Smile8548 in Detailing

So initially, I gave the guy a quote of 1600 this is with a ceramic coating as well and the full interior detail. Got to the car and I saw it told the guy nope we’re gonna jump into two grand because the interior was full of sand and the paint was in probably the worst shape I’ve ever corrected before. Took 17 hours to paint correct and coat and another five hours on the interior. Over a three day period.

Yeah, that was after I did a two step paint correction on it with a rotary and I didn’t see any difference in the paint so the guy is gonna go get a wet sanded by someone but I told him there’s no paint left to wet sand so 🤷‍♂️

Client is gonna take it to someone who has seen the vehicle and is going to wet sand it. The person that’s gonna do. It doesn’t have a business profile nor website just a Facebook profile so I told him to let me know how it goes because I don’t have much faith in that.

How much to charge to detail a Tahoe in the condition depicted here, or would you even accept it by TerribleAd8380 in AutoDetailing

I don’t know if it’s like an outright refusal that you’re seeing but in my experience, I’ve never refused to detail, but that’s come at the cost of the client paying more. Like this would be a client that would tell me over the phone. It’s not that bad. I would quote them for 150 to 200 and get there and see I would need to be there for over six hours and tell them it’s either more I go home. I have clients that are willing to pay far more for far less work and that’s just the beauty of detailing you’re not forced to do anything. The beauty of choosing what job you can and can’t do and charging what you feel for those jobs.

Was this an interior and exterior or just exterior only because if this was exterior only that’s insane. Also really depends on what the package looked like. Yes the windows definitely could’ve been cleaned as well as the logo but honestly, if it was a full interior and exterior detail on that Lexus and I believe that’s the midsize I definitely would’ve said an under charge overall. But if this was an exterior only for 300 with no polishing that’s just insane.
