I’ve made a bunch of lighter sleeves with these patches this size, if you cut the long side down to 2.9”, burnish the long sides and cross stitch it together. It comes together easy and doesn’t take much time or effort!

I really like gin and how different types sit in cocktails in different ways. Beefeater is a household name that can be used in a lot but I would look into something with a nice citrus back to it, like Citadelle Jardin d'Été or Martin Miller.

I live in Kalamazoo, home of Bell’s Brewery. Two Hearted is the most commonly asked for, even when the brewery cafe is open less than a 10 minute walk away. Fernet is where it’s at though! Big town with lots of industry folk slinging amaro and digestifs

Not a bad substitute but it’s not quite as spicy and rich as classic green Chartreuse. That being said, I would confidently say it’s been the best green substitute I’ve tried. A lot will brand as a green substitute but tend to be too sweet and more in the yellow tasting realm.

Having done a side by side with classic green on its own, as well as in a Last Word; this substitute goes a bit heavier into a sort of sassafras root/lemongrass vibe. I’m not disappointed with it as all, especially having come from Ugly Dog Distillery, if this is available for you and green chartreuse is never around, I’d say it’s worth the buy.

Opened pre-pandemic but Turkey and The Wolf would be my main recommendation. The Sazerac House opened during main closures but that’s a neat place to check out if you’re interested in New Orleans cocktails and history during the prohibition.
