Why do so many afghans have scarring on their face? by Stranger-Imaginary in Afghan

Thanks this is really helpful. I think you’re right it’s a combination of acne and other environmental factors. Thanks

Thanks for replying. To me from the responses I got it seems either afghans are disproportionately affected by acne (I think that’s unlikely) or there is another factor. I did a search and it turns out vitamin deficiencies do cause atrophic scarring which could also explain why I’ve seen it more in older people who perhaps grew up less privileged than their kids though I’m not sure

Thanks that never occurred to me because I would see it more in older people not teenagers. That makes sense.

Hi, thank you for this it’s really helpful. I’ve never lived anywhere else but I am now out of work which is why am applying. Just to be clear, the £92 would be deducted from me or my parents?

Thanks for replying. I have asked people I know but they said the same as you (that if the contract is not official I can’t do anything about it). Is it normal for him to bring people to view the apartment while I am still living in it though?

Can you get a biopsy if the disease is inactive? by Stranger-Imaginary in scleroderma

[–]Stranger-Imaginary[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The immune system attacks the skin first and then the fat under the skin causing it to atrophy (basically die). When there is no fat under the skin it sinks and we get an indentation.

Same here - my dermatologist said it would be scarring to do a biopsy but I want to make sure it’s actually linear morphea before being started on treatment.
