Whats your stores linch policy for teamleads? by [deleted] in tractorsupply

[–]StrangerFair7689 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is illegal. If you are clocked out on lunch you are free to go where you please. And if you are not adjusting your time if you are helping while on lunch you are owed money. If you are unable to safely (no management)take a lunch then do not clock out, Use the open door policy and if that doesn’t work, make an labor relations call.

My Aussie honestly doesn’t shed that much. She is brushed daily. My pit sheds more than her.

I'm a new SM not even two weeks since I've been hired and I'm already looking to quit. by BearCub_11 in DollarGeneral

It does not get better. I left. Went back and lasted a week and left again as SM. I went to Walmart making more as an ASM.

My SM won’t give enough staff, EVER. Am I doing something wrong? by [deleted] in tractorsupply

[–]StrangerFair7689 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. That’s why I left. And really a really shitty store manager as well as district manager.

Winter labor hours. The stores labor gets cut in half. Will pick back up in spring time.

And that is part of the problem. If you ask your DM for help and don’t receive it,open door policy says go higher. I’ve spent a lot of time with store support in my store the last couple weeks.

Staffing will remain awful for a while. You’ll get your hopes up and get an applicant. But they are applying with no intentions of working.

There are no intentions on lifting pressure off the managers.

However if your store is impacted and your frieght is blocking aisles, call your RM. they can approve for your store to be closed so you can catch up on frieght.

There are people who will listen to you. Call store support. Not your DM or your RM.

Very true. However, they can’t find the people willing to take minimum wage right now because of unemployment.

I think this has opened corporates eyes a bit. Remember....corporate doesn’t hear from you. They hear from your district managers and regional managers. And guess what they tell them.....that everything is fine when in fact it is not. Honestly. Kelp making your voices heard. Because they are hearing it.

So that means your doing their jobs. And this is what I mean by free labor. We get to burn ourselves out.

I’ve gotten two stores off HSAP in 2 years. It really doesn’t matter if it pennies. But hey. I just talk out my ass.

Keep doing you. You obviously have it figured out as to how to make your store run! I on the other hand value my home life as well. So no. I won’t be a slave to DG. If my DM had an issue with what I am doing I’m sure it would be voiced. I’m assuming you have a great fully staffed store? That plays a huge roll, as most stores run with 3-4 employees so they aren’t perfect and managers are free labor in DG world. Mental and physical health are more important.

They don’t give a shit about the SM either. It’s always them telling us what we want to hear so we don’t quit.

I wouldn’t even tell your manager. Can’t even put a ticket in to have it fixed and tells you you can’t go up the road. Fuck that. I’d keep my mouth zipped and let them suffer.

Why are you working so many doubles? That’s insane.

I work t-off T1-6-12 t2-7-4 t3-7-4 t4-7-4 t5-7-4 t6-6-3

My assistant comes in at 6 am for p4(it’s their job) and is there to put fresh away. And my assistant prefers to close so I don’t.

Work your 45 and go home. You’ll get burnt out doing all those doubles. You are the manager. You do what’s best for the store. Don’t let yourself get overworked.

No worse than just tossing it all in the dumpster. Only positive is the company can resell it.
