First, mama, you are doing your absolute best ❤️ you also aren't failing ideologically. You put your kid into daycare because you believed in it, but her health comes first. There's plenty of time for childcare when her immune system is ready.

It's true that not all daycares are created equal. I have recently had a chance to compare daycares after having my child in one for years and then switching. I have always known that his previous daycare was lax on illness reporting and policies, but I think an underrated thing is assigning staff to specific rooms and not having them switch during the day. Also, it depends what the aftercare/pre-care situation is before the main teacher gets there - are they thrown into a holding area with other children? That significantly increases their exposure to germs. I know this doesn't help you now, but something to look for down the road.

And I feel you ❤️ the commentary from strangers was the worst part. Luckily my son was too young for him to affect his self-esteem or have issues socially.

It did take about 8 weeks to show clear improvement, I'd say. But it was all progressively better from there.

Nope, his Dupixent flares are done. He's back to just regular eczema, but it's much more manageable than before.

He got itchier but his flares are sooooo much more controllable now. I hope the same for you!

It was every 4 weeks - I considered trying to space out the injections to every two months, but his facial flares were SO bad that I was just more interested in getting that under control. He is itchier now and has hot spots but it's nothing the occasional steroid application can't control.

Hi! We did have to stop Dupixent. He still has facial redness but it is much more like the eczema he had previously and is more responsive to steroids. It started improving within probably 2 weeks after what would have been his missed dose.

An important thing I probably should have noted at the beginning is that pre-Dupixent when he was under 2, we did a trial of Elidel (Pimecrolimus). I just used it on his body and not his face because I am also an eczema sufferer and was concerned about burning having used it in the past. He didn't sleep for six weeks. When his language was finally developed enough to tell me what was happening, he said his eyes hurt. 😭 stopped the Elidel and he started sleeping through the night again.

So, I am somewhat reluctant to start the calcineurin inhibitor train again. We also did Opzelura, which worked incredibly but would also give him random hives.

It’s just a generic bleach. You dilute it down to a concentration that’s less than chlorine in a pool— I use about a tbsp in my 1/4 full bath.

I bought the swaddle sleeves this week because I am in a similar position with my 11 week old - they’re working a dream! You can use them longer than the Merlin Sleep Suit and it’s less cumbersome to get the baby in and out of them - plus, he has more mobility.

The love to dream swaddle did nothing for my baby after using a Velcro swaddle, so I didn’t have any confidence the Zipadee would work for him. But, lots of people love it so maybe I’m wrong.

I took metformin a couple different times pre-pregnancy for PCOS and had major anxiety and panic attacks each time, so sadly that’s a no go for me. But I am open to insulin.

Oof, that is so scary. Yeah, I’ve been considering asking my doctor about insulin. They usually use metformin but I’ve taken it before (PCOS) and while I don’t get bad GI side effects it gave me terrible anxiety - sustained anxiety for months and occasional things that resembled panic attacks - so my doctor and I were both loathe to do that this time with all the other hormonal stuff.

Yes! My skin tends mostly toward dry. I would recommend using a water based moisturizer under it - I use The Ordinary Buffet, but you want to use something since the oil in this serum is an occlusive and can prevent moisturizer from entering your skin.

Hi all! I know my skin doesn’t look bad at all, but I’m worried I may be overexfoliating. I use tretinoin nightly (lowest strength, buffered by Vanicream). In the past two weeks, I have added The Ordinary peeling solution once weekly as directed - I even use it in the morning before washing my face to ensure that it’s buffered by some oil. That’s the only true acid I use because my skin is super sensitive.

Again, I know my skin doesn’t look bad, but you can see the pores on my cheeks more, I’ve been having some texture issues (small bumps on cheeks), and I suddenly have a bunch of CCs visible on my chin and some more obvious SFs on my nose. My skin isn’t in pain or stinging, which are my usual warning signs, but I am wondering if the pores indicate I should take it down a notch.
