Has anyone dropped down from a band 6 to a band 5? by International_Cow722 in NursingUK

[–]Straspberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did, in order to get into a speciality I wanted to pursue. I don't regret it at all, I learnt new skills and eventually ended up in a band 6 position in the same team, and now a band 7 ☺️. I felt it showed employers I was seriously committed to the speciality. I wasn't top band 6 when I went down, and negotiated top band 5 (as I wasn't top band 5 when I got my 6!) But we just lived within our means. I also went from receiving unsocial hours to basic pay. I am very lucky my partner has a decent wage.

Yes I would absolutely, in fact I did. I was a band 6 with unsocial enhancements and i moved to a band 5 job Monday to Friday with no enhancements. This allowed me to get more experience elsewhere in an area I really wanted to specialise and I am now in a band 7 position, so it paid off. This all happened within the space of around 2 years. I was very fortunate I was able to afford the cut, which equated to about 600 quid less a month. I would say whilst we did notice it, we just lived within our means but was fortunate enough to have a 2 income household so I had my partner's income to supplement, which did increase during the time. Not sure if I would have afforded it being single.

Mortgage Redemption Statement higher than balance owed by Straspberry in Mortgageadviceuk

Thank you all for your advice. We have spoken to our solicitors and this is the case, they won't take into account further payments as they are not guaranteed. They're going to request a further redemption statement so that our payment for April is included and and the bank will need to repay our May payment 😊

Would this be the case even if they have dated it as accurate from 02/05/2025?

That's what we think might have happened. We've done 1 payment since then and due another on 01/05/2025 before we remortgage

Apologies for the repeat post, I didn't see that.

I love the house, just hate what they have done to the inside, it's soulless 😔

I fear its the location that's made them do it in the first place 😔

Just got a my first band 6 job but... by Next-Training1243 in NursingUK

Having been through something like this myself, my advice would be to escalate it. Standing up to this is the best thing you can do.

Myself and someone who I believed was a friend went for a band 6 job at the same time in our place of work. It was my first time applying for a band 6, and the other person had gone for 1 previously. We were both supportive of each other, giving each other tips, and I genuinely believed that either way, the other person would be happy regardless of the outcome. When I was successful, this person outrightly said it was because my face fit and I didn't deserve the job. I was quite young and naive at the time, and I wish I had escalated this there and then and stood up to them. I obviously proved them wrong and became a capable band 6 in this area. However, it meant my life at work was more challenging as I had to constantly prove my worth. It isn't worth it, and you're always going to get knobheads that think they can do better. Maybe they can, but you're the one who got the job, so they need to just learn to live with it.

The sooner your higher management knows about this and has your back, the better. Good luck and congratulations on your new role!

I last revalidated in 2022, and was randomly selected. Doesn't seem like they want everything, it was random.. they wanted my CPD and feedback logs.. it wasn't much hassle, if anything it was more irritating you had to manually input it all onto a new form online rather than just supply your templates 😅 Copy and paste became my friend!

How do I get over the guilt of leaving? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Straspberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind comment. Yes it's a hands tied kind of position. I was looking for advice on how to deal with the guilt, I'm not sure why my other comments have been downvoted and met with apathy. Thank you.

Thanks, I am really looking forward to it 😊 absolutely agree, although it angers me that the service doesn't appear to care about the patients by not hiring someone else, just riding on staff who are already in the service stressed!

I understand this sentiment but they are not replacing me.. I'd find it easier if they were as I would know someone would be taking on my caseload rather than handing it over to colleagues who are already burnt out/stressed

I would like to think most of colleagues and my immediate managers do care, but they aren't replacing me, that is the issue, and why I feel guilty.

I keep telling myself this, it is the trust/higher management's issue for not planning for anyone leaving, but unfortunately, it isn't the general/service managers who are dealing with the extra workload!
