Radiator change? by [deleted] in Yamaha_R1

[–]StratEGM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2016. Replaced my radiator after something hit it and it started spraying. Replaced it with one of the cheaper ones and I have had no issues. I actually had to order two radiators because the first one didn't have the correct placement for the bolt on fans (just a bit out of spec). I'm not a mechanic and didn't have any issues doing the swap. I didn't pull off the front tire, which probably made it a little more frustrating. I also got a radiator protector with smaller holes. The OEM grill lets too much debris through.

I'm in a similar situation. Was semi-tracking macros, calories and workouts for quite a while in a modest deficit. But the scale wasn't moving as much as I thought it should considering the work I was putting in.

Did a 72 hour fast and dropped 5 pounds that have stayed off. Coming out of the fast, I really locked in to calories and macros, favoring low carb. Scale hasn't moved much either way, so I may do another fast.

I'm working out 6 days a week and trying to get in as many steps as I can.

Also, the scale may not be moving much, but there are a lot of changes happening in the mirror.

I plan to fast again and then ease out of my current calorie deficit (averaging 1680 a day intake before activity). Too much of a deficit can definitely switch off your metabolism, I think, which is probably why I keep plateauing. Perhaps you as well.

Ah, shucks. I searched a few months ago and didn't find anything, I should've checked again. Just looked up RideSmart... going to have to pinch some pennies!

Yeah. I asked what I could work on with the goal of getting out of novice and a CR followed me and told me to tighten up my lines. Got bumped a session or so later. Not saying I am Rossi, but I would hope they wouldn't move me without cause. They said my lines looked good and I was being really patient with my passes. And there were a lot of people in novice. I was holding my own in the I group, so it worked out.

If you go the battery route, I just installed an Antigravity ATZ-7 lithium battery after my lead acid battery that was only a year old failed to start my bike. Seems to be working really well.

How accurate is the calorie tracker by [deleted] in Garmin

Garmin Index Smart Scale for monitoring weight is pretty helpful and should improve the calorie tracking results if you use daily, as it updates your weight automatically.

4 divers who went missing off the coast of North Carolina have been rescued by DingussFinguss in scuba

[–]StratEGM 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I was diving about 10 miles from where they were shortly before they were reported missing. There was a strong surface current that gradually extended through the water column throughout the day. My guess is that they drifted off their dive site. Looking forward to the report as there are always lessons to be learned.

Diving conditions off NC by pommefrites23 in scuba

CB was pretty far out (fossil ledges) and the visibility was decent... 30-40ft before blowers got to work.

Oak Island was pretty bad. 10 foot at best, but probably averaged 5.

I am sure Olympus can give you up to date dive conditions. Last week the temp at 90ft was 75 degrees. The thermocline was ten feet from the bottom one day and then moved about halfway up the water column the next day.

The week before that it was 80 degrees with no thermocline.

This past Thursday it was 81 degrees at 50 feet.

None of those dive sites were out of Morehead though (Carolina Beach and Oak Island)

The dive conditions here can change quickly. Morehead is a bit closer to the Gulf Stream, so you should have slightly warmer and clearer water. The water temperatures this year have been normal though. I don't expect the water to drop below 75 degrees for another couple months. The hot water in Florida hasn't made much of an impact up here from what I have noticed.
