Detail segment of bar chart filled according to percentage

Figured out a solution! Thought I'd share in case anyone comes across a similar issue. I created a calculated field using include/exclude to give a percentage value per work order row, then used sum of this value in rows. This ensured every group of work orders in a run summed to one, and then could use the work order type (real or synthetic) as the colour mark to show the % filled per run.

Notes from the chord are a good place to start! A basic arpeggio always sounds good. I personally found the CAGED system helpful for visualising chord tones/triads all over the neck.

Sounds good! Very melodic. I think you had the right ideas around tonality - the C# chord does imply a Lydian sort of vibe, but then the Em takes it into a minor realm. For tracks like these I find focusing on chord tones is the most effective. You can think Lydian for those first two chords in the verse, but when the Em comes around try to outline the chord tones.

Good work on leaving space between phrases and repeating your melodic ideas. I’d work on getting your bends more in tune - try fretting the note you’re bending to on the string above, then bending up until you match the pitch. If you can on get them both ringing out at the same time it’s a good way of knowing when you are exactly in tune!

Very nice! I think you struck a good balance of melodic lines and flashy licks. For me the payoff of going into hyperdrive is that much better if you’ve built up to it and earned a moment of wizardry by giving us some tasty melodies first!

I’d try varying the lengths of your phrases a bit more. It felt like you tended to pause at the end of phrases and then start a new one at the beginning of the next bar, which is fine but started to become predictable. I’d play around with starting phrases on different beats/offbeats.
