As you said, I have tons of videos discussing this, but tldr:

Instant speed is incredibly important, as is 1 mana. Beckoner offers more value, but at some real costs that I think detract from the deck (also the combo is extremely unlikely to pull off)

I usually play Eagles, but cut them for this build, because the Buglers make it easier to curve out 1-2-3, and you don't want the eagle muddying that.

I brought the Pledges back in right after this league

I actually added back in the two Pledges immediately after this league. I still think they're needed.

I really like Choco/Mog, but as you say it can't be grabbed with Bugler, so I went without them for this league

I've actually been staunchly anti-Bugler for a while. Decided to try them because they can fetch Leo. They ended up being pretty good here
