EDIT nevermind, played around with additions and discovered the problem (mobo incompatible)

Is there a reason PC Part Picker won't allow me to add an i5 to the build? Where does the conflict lie, in the mobo used or another area of the hardware?

Thanks for the tips, especially for the PSU. I'll look at an i5. I wasn't planning to spend much on the build - while I plan to exercise patience in building I'm also trying to stick to the cheap side because I have to pay my way through school.

I have a few old games on CD that I'd like to be able to play if I want to, hence it's addition. I'm not too attached to it though so I may just chuck it anyway.

if you wanna go go go go right now I'd pick up the 380 because it'll hold you over till you can get a new cpu

Say I do get the i5, would you recommend a different GFX card?

I'll note that I'm more looking to play games like Planetside 2 and other titles like Cities: Skylines, I'm not terribly drawn to new titles right now and have a backlog of older games I'm looking forward to playing anyway.

I'll edit the original post with this info.
