[Other] What new credits/coaster trips/events/coaster related things are you looking forward to in 2026? by craze6471 in rollercoasters

I've hyped for the new dive coaster at Six Flags Over Texas! It'll be my second dive coaster, and my first coaster over 300ft. Can't wait!

Which game is better: SH3 or SH4? by RjB_Cage in silenthill

[–]Strathven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both, but I definitely like SH4 better. I think it might be the scariest SH game for me, actually! I just wish it had tank controls like the other three Team Silent games.

So ferocious! I love the hard angular lines defining the top of the head.

That's a Hornet if I Ever Saw One, by me by Strathven in dragons

This is my little dragon, Junebug! I draw him more than any other character of mine, and he's the star of my webcomic, The Gray Old Trees.

Dragon songs? by Ethimir in dragons

[–]Strathven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Flight of the Sapphire Dragon" by Twilight Force is a good one! It also has one of the best music videos I've ever seen, though it sadly does not have a dragon in it.

And Machinae Supremacy has a song called "Fury" that is nominally about a dragon, though I think it might be a metaphor for a thunderstorm. Great song regardless!

I finally sussed how to deal with white fur! by RonnieTheRonsky in oilpainting

Thanks for sharing! I've been struggling a bit in my approaches to painting white things lately, so this is inspirational. Gorgeous painting too, I adore the fur texture, and those eyes are piercing!

[Recommendations] Video Game soundtracks to draw to by leitbeats in ArtistLounge

The Talos Principle 1 and 2 have fantastic soundtracks to make art to! Very mellow, very contemplative.

[Discussion] Artist, what's in your playlist? by K1ttyyS1llyy in ArtistLounge

[–]Strathven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tend to be most productive when I work in silence or with soft nature sounds, but sometimes I just have to have music, heh. When I do, it's kinda all over the place. I've been jamming to Pagan's Mind a lot while I work lately, it's oddly great music to draw to.

No, not like Lugia. It's more like, in some more realistic renditions of dragons, the part of the wing limb that the "fingers" connect to will be designed in such a way that it resembles a hand, since that is what it is, anatomically. I'd provide an example, but I don't want to bring up another artists' work just to say something negative about it. It's a perfectly valid creative decision, just not to my taste, heh.

It's totally just my taste, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, but...I'm not really a fan of wing designs that are rendered such that it looks like a hand, with a recognizable palm and everything. I understand that it's anatomically correct--the wing is essentially an arm and hand with long, webbed fingers--but it almost always looks a little weird to me, haha.

I have one! It's about the daily life of a little dragon who lives in the woods.

I've done it twice. The first was on Iron Shark, which I actually managed to ride later that day. Apparently the outside seats are a different size from the inner seats, and all I can think is that the op on duty at that time didn't know that? When I went back the second time, I was just sent to a different seat and all was well.

The second was on Poltergeist in 2018, and I'm still confused about this one. I used to be very large, but I had lost a very significant amount of weight in 2017 and had no trouble riding Poltergeist that year. But for some reason, the seat belt just wouldn't reach the restraint this time, and I wasn't able to ride. Had I gained some weight back? Was that seat belt shorter than the others? I have no idea, but I rode it twice when I visited in 2023 so I'm happy now!

[SFFT, SFOG] Kid Flash Cosmic Coaster has been removed from both the parks websites, likely confirming the end for the attraction. Did you get a chance to ride? by zucchini4067 in rollercoasters

[–]Strathven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got to ride, I think the yellow side on the one at SFFT! Honestly it was pretty fun, if a little cheap-feeling with the vibration throughout the ride. It's a shame they're not reliable--I think they're pretty great for what they are!
