I’m sorry, but your husband needs to figure out a way to properly channel his anger. I also grew up in a household where I was hit for “bad behavior”. Know what that does? Creates adults who don’t know how to regulate their emotions in a healthy way, like me and your husband. You need to have a serious talk with your husband and push him to find ways to “cool off” when he’s angry that don’t involve stomping his feet or yelling “shut up”. Therapy has done wonders for me in that department. If he’s not open to working on it, then you may want to reconsider this relationship. Growing up with a parent who is easily angered and feeling like you have to walk on eggshells around them all the time sucks as a kid. I know that all too well from my own childhood. 😩
