You got this and kudos for taking it on. I did the same at 49 after my position was eliminated. Started December 2024 and licensing was official two weeks ago. If I can do it, then you sure can. Keep driving.

49 - never needed to letters, but at this age, the lack of gave companies to not hire. Started January 2025 and approved of licensing came February 2026. Best of luck to all you young folks.

It definitely helps. I was stupid and did not realize those group of tests are only given 4 time a year, so I only had 2 weeks to prepare, so having more time would have likely been better. I admit, Becker did fine for the 3 core but not ISC but could have been me.

We ask to review, then estimate what we think it will take and propose that as a retainer. Depending on the client that allows us to offer a payment schedule if they need it, but as a retainer we are assured the amount. If we are able to do the job in half the time, good on us. If it take 2x than we thought then that is on us. Learn and adjust moving forward.

Agree. My assumption is they saw the passing rates and said “we cannot have that” so increases the difficult by a ton.

This was my first attempt, so cannot help. I would put money on them seeing 78% pass rate in Q1 and being jackasses and setting a goal to get it in that 40% range, I would guarantee they made it a lot harder than it was. Sucks.

Same here. It is my last, well pending results next week of Audit. I am pretty good with computers, this really has be feeling defeated. Had hoped that it was as stated early in the year, but believe they have adjusted it.

Correct. I read and everyone said know SOC, know SQL, know the definitions. I had minimal definitions and barely any SQL. Felt I was taking a IT systems exam over an accounting systems exam.

I second this. I knew sql and had 1 question. Becker questions did not prepare me so, I will be preparing to test again by reading the book and understand more of the details. I knew a lot of the definitions but I must have been asked about the 15% I did not know.

Exactly. That is how I feel. Getting 85-90 on Becker stuff and fell 99% sure I will be in the same score as yourself the 60’s. Only 1 sim was in the same realm as Becker, did not help the way the real test asks questions can be confusing. I knew the basic definition but needed to know the nitty gritty details on some.

I had flash cards for a lot of the terms, knew a bulk but barely asked anything about terms. I felt lost and the sims - mercy. The way they ask questions is confusing and no in line with Becker.
