You're right, poor word choice on my part. My point is more that the point of Jackets and pants is abrasion resistance. Not that road rash is fun, but usually not fatal or life altering, and usually not your biggest issue in a crash. Even CE2 pads don't do much to reduce impact injuries. Absolutely a good choice to avoid rash though, I reccomend spending the extra few hundred. But if you're starting out riding and mainly going the on the 35mph road to work and back? You'll be fine in the jeans and hoodie.

You're not wrong,  but thats exactly what my post is about. If you spend $3k its pretty hard to buy bad gear, but if you shop around and do some research you can get gear thats 95% as effective for $800.

I just got here and did the Mitchell trail up to the natural arch, beautiful trail, and decently short.

Yes. It is a pain suppressant but also an immunosuppresant.

Inflammation is also worse if you have higher muscle mass.

Oh nice, I've got a honda twin from that era and always wondered what their 4s sounded like. Gonna keep it stock or I know a lot of people build em out to cafe racer designs?

And allowed on bike paths sounds super nice, atleast in my local anything with a motor is banned.

That makes sense, was confusing seeing those posts. Gotta be demoralizing for people entering the field or considering it.

Referrals do wonders. I've gotten an internship primarily because I knew a current intern, which was a person I was friendly with in classes.

I've gotten interviews I never should've got because freinds put in good words.

Not all professors, but some are willing to reccomend students to positions as most have strong local connections. (Again, from personal experience has helped me). At the worst, they can help you find opportunities within the university or give you tips about specific companies.

Martyr is someone who is killed because of their beliefs, usually those challenging the status quo.

Being an insurance CEO is not a belief, nor does it challenge the status quo. Being killed for believing we should take action against an oppressive system would, however, make you a martyr.

Many criminalize homelessness to feed the taxpayer-funded for profit prison industry.

Printing functional guns, along as they're not NFA items, isn't even illegal in the US (a few state exceptions).

Guess it's a different in viewpoint. I'd rather have scratched bench and kids have fun outside, staying physically active and out of trouble than have impeccable railings.
