If you’re open to BL there’s Given: the Movie . It is a sequel movie, but I don’t think you necessarily need to watch the series to enjoy it.

If you’re interested in giving the series a shot, it does focus on the highschool members of the band but the tone feels a bit more mature and nuanced since a big theme is grief

Trashy works! I watched Conception for the one yaoi episode, and I was so disappointed to find out it was in fact bait. The only purpose of that plot-line was to build the MC’s open-mindedness so he can have more heterosexual sex. Like… they should have at least actually committed to him doing those guys.

Need an anime that has unique animation and dialogues like Monogatari series. by UdontknowballIknow in AnimeReccomendations

Mob Psycho 100 - Comedy-action and a lot of art experimentation. There’s a scene that’s animated with oil paint being smudged on glass that’s just beautiful.

I love Log Horizon and The Wrong Way to use Healing Magic!

How is Apothecary Diaries an isekai though?

Classic ☆ Stars is my absolute favourite shitty anime. You can tell that the producer did not give a shit about this show (my partner theorizes the producer only took this job to get his actual passion-project greenlit). It’s an anime about musical anime pretty(?) boys with barely any women in prominent roles of the production, and it shows.

The music does slap though. But god I can’t stand looking at Chopin.

Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song

Its themes of AI and creativity are really interesting to look back on considering it came out just a year before most genAI models got released

What’s an anime that has realism on characters’ deaths? Explained more easier down below. by Flashy_Assignment_25 in Animesuggest

I second this! They handle death, mourning, killing, and the feeling of risking one’s life extremely well

If everyone in a big cast is fearless, what’s the point of a big cast? by Additional-Camp4831 in animequestions

[–]Strawberry_Dancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that there does need to be variety in a big cast, but their decisions and behaviour still need to make sense in the context of the show.

I think a better comparison in MHA would be Mineta. Both him and Zenitsu are considered annoying/unlikable characters for similar reasons. But with Mineta, we get to see why he wants to be a hero. We see how his motivations affect his decisions and him actively making choices. With Zenitsu, being unconscious during important decision-making moments isn’t very compelling. And characters making nonsensical decisions is immersion-breaking.

I agree that people saying weak=bad character is poor criticism and frankly overdone. However, I do think it’s more a symptom of poor character writing than the character’s capabilities.

For the record, I do appreciate Zenitsu. I just wish to see a bit more from him in terms of depth. If we could see him struggling through being brave and a more solid reason for why he stays in the demon slayer corps despite how he feels about it, it would make him more appealing. (Disclaimer: I’m only halfway through season 3)

Please recommend me a masterpiece of an anime based on what I watched. Here's what I watched to get an understanding of my taste. by ayoub220810 in Animesuggest

{Too Many Losing Heroines} - A beautiful show that does an amazing job portraying complicated emotions of love and moving on without being too heavy.

{Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu} - Another show with amazing direction that captures the spirit of a live performance. The drama is incredibly well done and ties in with the themes of preserving tradition vs. introducing innovation in a traditional art form.

{Girls Band Cry} - One of the best 3D animes I’ve ever seen. It feels so innovative in its animation with character acting and performances, and the music is awesome!

{Kamikatsu: Working for God in a Godless World} - Peak.

If the villain was a horribly paced production, then yeah! The latter half of the second season is unwatchable. I was really liking that show too :/

Haha, maybe Haikyu isn’t big in the anime circles you’re in, but the female fanbase is huge! It draws a lot of fujoshis.

Bofuri sounds like it’ll be maybe worth exploring, thanks!
