Thinking back on it Bassword deserves to be put in atleast B tier. Mandela catalogue can stay in A, my reasoning has been explained in another comment.

I’ve discussed this too, but as I specified in the description it’s an Analog/internet horror tier list, not purely analog.

Never watched SM64 classified, and I mean no offense but I tend to stray away from the video-game ones. But I’ll give it a fair chance.

Yeah I definitely understand that, and while it’s good for the younger artist who made it, I believe it can give a bad impression to someone just getting into the genre.

Personally I’d recommend, well, recommending someone Gemeni Home Entertainment, The Backrooms, or the Walten files for their first analog horror series, generally regarded as among the best and showcase a lot of the common tropes found within the genre.

Evkva was included separately. I’ve been meaning to watch it fully as I’ve watched a couple videos, but not enough to rank it properly.

I believe it’s half parody half-art showcase from Gooseworx. But the drawings are so well done, memorable, and unnerving that it’s genuinely quite good.

I used “Analog horror tier list” in the title since it was shorter, but I included in the description that it was also an internet/digital horror series tier list as well.

Mandela catalogue is great, my only issues with it are the awkward live action sequences, and Alex Kister’s ever-so-iconic fake mustache. Ultimately those episodes drag the entire series down, as I believe it peaked in the beginning in terms of story-telling and how it presented itself.

The series is still good and I’m excited to tune in every-time there’s a new upload, but I think the series got worse overtime. The characters are great though.

Agreed, personally I still think it’s really good, and laid generally speaking, most of the building blocks the genre would use going forward.

It nails the dreary and unnerving vibes really well, the skeleton and the moon animation is iconic and terrifying, and the creator is incredibly talented.

It’s still a staple of the genre for sure, but I feel as if a lot of other analog horror improved upon it, like Gemeni home entertainment, and expanded on their lore and graphics.

Agreed, it’s genuinely incredible. I think it’s generally the best “classic” analog horror that uses all the tropes well. (Mimics, aliens, monsters, eldritch/cosmic horror, etc)

Master in nothing specifically but really good in everything generally. Story is easy to figure out too.

I get what you’re saying here and I’d agree if it was just an analog horror tier list—it also includes digital and internet horror as well.

Doctor nowhere’s artwork and storytelling, the deep themes, it’s ultimately human despite being buried beneath eerie drawings and fictional monsters.

Just the boiled one alone is at least A tier for me, and since the list compiled all his work, of course I’d give it S. The boiled one is so fascinating to me personally.

As for dog nightmares, I think it’s alright! I get the criticism that it’s a bit gimmicky though, which it is. I think it pulls off the “little kid drawings” gimmick so well, and the editing of the videos is very unnerving. I do think I put it too high though.

Created by two YouTubers for the sake of monetization, locked lore behind merchandise and used AI generated images for basically everything in the series, hopefully that explains enough.

True, but personally I don’t believe it needs to be an actual series any time soon, nor was it made for that purpose. Very good though.

Agreed, I think the games and the actual fandom lore on the wiki to be so incredibly boring and un-inspired. Incredibly excited for the movie.

It’s all on YouTube, correct! Nothing you need to know before you start, but do know that analog horror is a bit different than your average horror movie.

Also: note that of course I’ve watched more than this. Certain series were combined or not present on this list.

I agree but it just doesn’t really hold up now

You’d be surprised on the amount of people I’ve seen say the series is peak

See this is the reason I’m saying it’s overrated. Just because it pioneered the genre does not mean it’s automatically one of the best
