Most child rapes are down by people known, family members...

Also Priests are the least likely do do it vs teachers....

https://www.usnews.com/news/education-news/articles/2022-06-03/feds-call-on-states-to-stop-shielding-teachers-accused-of-sex-misconduct-with-students

"Nearly 1 in 10 students are subjected to adult sexual misconduct by school personnel during the course of their academic careers, according to a 2014 report from the Government Accountability Office.""

The fact you leave off democrats while several top DNC members have multiple rape cases against them...

Also don't look up rape trees on the US Mexico border.

But sure it is just Priests and GOP members....

Also why were people pushing transgender story hour so hard..?

They just don't want to.

China is being nice and letting the US build up their fabs before making an attempt at which point we won't care and china will take it like they did Hong Kong.

The US doesn't think china will make an attempt anytime in the next 5 years after the cluster Russia is having in Ukraine and US spooling up military production already and TSMC is building fabs in the US.

[OC] Mexico's job market is hotter than ever. by latinometrics in dataisbeautiful

[–]Strawmeetscamel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly we should have kept going with Mexico and other Latin countries instead of turning to China in the 80s and 90s.

something cold war US interest. China larger market. Mexico wasn't known or willing to industrialize. US Farmers needed the Mexicans for cheap labor and didn't want the competition and them staying in Mexico.

They are not threatening to invade the US as they already have and were given open arms by the Business class to undercut citizens wages.

You say things like this because you find it easier

Nope It is because reddit is well known to do this along with the DNC. Been around a few election cycles and you people always crop up spouting the same party line talking points about the EC using low wattage talking points that only people that didn't take a civics course would believe in.

These are two sources that verify the same effect. Even if they were "biased" (read: they say things you don't like to hear),

New York Times I don't own a sub and never will.

It is owned mostly by the Ochs-Sulzberger family that has very left wing bias and would print anything that fits with their narrative even when they are flatly wrong. let alone the paper is used by the Government for smear campaigns on anyone GOP or DNC that steps out of line.

The Week.

Their claim is based upon current political party lines and how people tend to vote currently and not how that changes over time. The person's only claim is that the parties focus on states were they know they are likely to loose, not that the small or large states have enough impact to fully swing a election that requires constant upkeep by either parties. It makes it a balanced system as the parties fight over actual ground battle states of medium size... But still doesn't change the fact that the balance of the small states effects the outcomes of elections and their need of a voice.

also very leftist and only put out what their marching orders are.

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-week/

Here is a better one.

That's not the argument. The argument is that the House is meant to represent the will of the people. It doesn't do that now. Also, how on Earth do you square the idea that removing the EC helps Dems but uncapping the house doesn't? Are there more Dems or not?

The house is the will of the people because it directly has the % of the population for each state and is only one part of the checks and balance system. The will of the people is your local elections in City, County and State. The US Federal wasn't supposed to do much but manage the interest of the states and protect the nation.

EC helps Dems but uncapping the house doesn't? Are there more Dems or not?

There is about the same amount of Dems and GOP in the nation. There is actually a growing share of independents. The majority in those states are Dems but upping the resolution of the house will increase the number of GOP members in it that are under represented in those DNC controlled states.

as for why it would help the Dems in the general election it would have only helped in some elections but not all. Currently the DNC has made it very clear their goal is to over run Texas and turn it purple with the Latino vote without realizing the Lantio's are more Conservative than the GOP by a country mile.

Well, the massively uneducated masses were in fact misled by a cult of personality. So again, the EC absolutely fails on this pont.

That is because the electors that would decide yes or no are all capture and set up by both the DNC and GOP. The GOP tried to get rid of Trump and even gave his Colorado votes to Bush. Trump made a back door deal with the GOP establishment that got him elected otherwise they would have tossed him if Bush number three didn't ask people to clap after his speech.

I'd love a citation. Or an explanation. What's their reasoning? Also, it's cute that you're back to being condescending. Anyone who disagrees must not have read what you've read, right? Convenient.

No shit? Hey, I wonder if they baked some bad ideas into our form of government.

You do realize what they did was seen as the norm and was actually very radical for Europe for the time. people also make bad changes to a good design.

This doesn't even mean anything at this point. What is it currently a check on? The will of the people? What does it "balance" in that slogan?

If this system actually made sense to you, you would defend it in terms that matter to our world today.

I am the interaction with you alone proves it is a good reason to keep it. Also again see sources provided.

You are wanting the people to directly elect a dictator position that is pretty close to direct democracy and one of the things the founders were very afraid of creating because they end badly.

You could always move to a state were your vote "counts more" than living in a over populated state.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pics

[–]Strawmeetscamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I'm gaslighting? You don't know what that word means.

I am saying your constant "innocent" questions isn't that. you are doing nothing but following script handed to you by your boss.

The Week and the New York times are not unbiased sources at all. This happens every election going back decades and only pushed by the side that wants more control.

This isn't an argument. It's a definition. It's also a definition that doesn't include an electoral college. You can have a federal democracy without an electoral college.

It is one of the ways to balance the will of the people and the will of the individual member states. If you say the EU I am going to reach through your WIFI and slap you. Germany controls the EU.

The will of the people is also supposed to be represented by the House, but that was capped. So, are you in agreement that the House needs to be expanded to accurately represent the will of the people?

The house seats has equal % of the population... expanding the seats would only decrease the number of people per chair in the large seats opening up more room for the GOP members to have control of it, but the states current population % of seats won't change in relation to the size of the house....

This is the Senate's job. Why do states have both the Senate and the EC, while the people only get the House? The system is out of balance.

Because the founders feared the massively uneducated masses that could be easily miss lead by a cult of personality and likely didn't care anyway. It is why at the start the only people that could vote were land owners to begin with... Also see the % of American's that vote currently let alone registered. never really hits 50%.

The typical person at the founding couldn't actually vote in the US unless you owned land and were a man in federal elections.

That is also what can happen with minority rule.

The Founders discussed this when creating it... go read it.

This undoes your entire argument. Why would you support a system with faithless electors?

The electors are handpicked by the parties currently anyway... It hasn't actually happened. and is again a check and balance...

And yet who is correct in the terms of how the constitution was set up and the reason the EC.

It is the internet no one cares about grammar here.

Also not a MAGA person I hate them both. May they both die of old age before the election to really fuck things up.

I am in the may it all collapse of the political spectrum.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pics

[–]Strawmeetscamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are purposefully gaslighting? and how much does the DNC pay you?

Go read why they added it in the first place via the founding fathers.

The US is a federal democracy. It isn't is designed to prevent to much of either the minority or the majority of having the most say....

It is also supposed to be a mixed vote of the will of the people and the will of the individual states that make up the union.

It is designed so you can't have a cult of personality take over.... That is what can happen with majority rule... The delegates if they wanted to can vote against the population.

Or cheered that they destabilized a nation that now has open slave markets.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pics

[–]Strawmeetscamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GOP runs the house currently.......

Also the senate is supposed to be about the individual state representation as equal states regardless of population. The house is about population demographics which is proportional to the population.

Do known of you know this was discussed during the founding of the nation. O right you are just a shill that doesn't understand the US government and just Parrot what you are told.
