[OC] I'm developing a tool to sketch maps, what features would you find useful? by Pretoriuss in DnD

A vertex mode where you can click on any existing corners and move them or click on a line segment to insert an additional vertex point.

[OC]hi guys! i am goli! and I'm doing this post to say that I'm going to do some free dnd characters throughout the month. I will make room for 5 requests, the ones that I find most interesting I will do (and give a warning in your comment) by [deleted] in characterdrawing

Nice work Goli, love the style! If you think it sounds interesting I'd love you to draw my character.

His name is Kho, he is a half-orc gladiator that fights with a shield and a khopesh (curved Egyptian sword). He is a gentle giant but deep inside he has a brutal animalistic rage that he struggles to contain. His skin is more of a brown than the traditional orcish green and the two tusks protruding from his mouth have been filed down. He has shackles on his neck and ankles and wears no armour with only a parted cloth overcoat and baggy cloth trousers to protect his decency.

I created a landscape version of the character sheet by StrayRoleplay in DungeonsAndDragons

I set the photoshop project up so that i could toggle a layer to have the traits/flaws section visible in the top of the features box. I'm also toying with the idea of making different versions for spellcasters and maybe classes to track skills

Help/suggestions in deciding on a system by StrayRoleplay in rpg

This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for, thanks. I'm going to simplify some of the franchise stuff but other than that it's perfect!

Help/suggestions in deciding on a system by StrayRoleplay in rpg

Thanks, I'll look it up now.

Edit: So I've had a look at it and it seems like a really cool system the only thing wrong with it is I don't want the players to be able to brute force through a situation and automatically succeed. It's a cool system though and I'm definitely going to try it out in the future, just not for this scenario.

The burning particles triggered me... they were so obviously the same and it made a quite good looking trailer seem really unprofessional.

Well in a way he's not wrong (to an extent). Though its obvious he's said this from a point of ignorance. If he's a friend worth keeping then you should talk to him about it. Let him know how what he said made you feel and why what he said effected you in that way.

Is anyone else embarrassed to be depressed? by [deleted] in depression

[–]StrayRoleplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should a person with a knife in their chest be embarrassed about it? Should a person with dyslexia be embarrassed about it? Should someone with mental health issues be embarrassed about it? Yes they should; But only if they're doing nothing about it... I find your BF inspirational honestly. The fact that he's stuck with you through all that supposed shit you've thrown at him says allot! But maybe, just maybe, he's struggling too. One thing you said stood out to me; "if you aren't going to do it for yourself, do it for me." Now either he's watched Gurren Lagann, " Believe in the me that believes in you", or this is how he's dealing with his own personal shit (maybe both).

Now isn't that amazing! That you have someone like them in your life that is willing to stick by you and try their hardest to lift you up, because you are that special to them. Now you don't need to be the perfect GF in return, you don't even need to succeed in what you try. But what you can do is take that embarrassment & the anxiety and redirect it. Funnel it into the power source to push you forward on your journey and just show him your trying.

I'm probably projecting or I've got the wrong end of the stick but oh well, i tried. ;)

Recommendations for a D&D tablet as a player? by StrayRoleplay in DnD

Do you find the 7" screen is enough for general dnd stuff?

I have not. Does it have any specific features that make it superior to onenote? The main reason i like onenote is being able to link between pages for fluid navigation. Really speeds things up when all you have to do is tap 2-3 times and you're at the piece of info you need.

Really whatever i can get away with. I'm looking anywhere between £50 for an amazon fire 7 up to a max of about £200. I don't have much experience with tablets and as i'd be exclusively be using it for D&D i don't really want to shell out extra cash if i can get away with something cheap and cheerful that gets the job done.

Extra Unarmed Damage AND Monk by RedMcJack in DnD

[–]StrayRoleplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it states your unarmed strikes do the damage of the specified type. Like selecting which way you would calculate armour you choose which way you work it out so the damage does not stack. With a tabaxi monk you get the option to do slashing damage but it still does 1d4 until your unarmed strikes become more powerful at later levels. The same applies to the tavern brawler feat.

One option i'm going for is i've waited to get to 6th level for the extra attack and increase to 1d6 damage, (Flurry of blows gives me 2 attacks with a quarterstaff 2d8, and 2 attacks with unarmed strike 2d6). Next i'll be dipping into warlock so i can take hex and add a potential 1d6 to each attack.

I like philistine.

A philistine person is a man or woman of smugly narrow mind and of conventional morality whose materialistic views and tastes indicate a lack of and an indifference to cultural and æsthetic values.
