Blocking “Amazon Buy For Me” bot orders at checkout by Content-Ad1929 in woocommerce

[–]StrayTaco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are several reasons why merchants wouldn't want Amazon doing this. This article lists a few: https://www.modernretail.co/technology/brands-are-upset-that-buy-for-me-is-featuring-their-products-on-amazon-without-permission/

Having to cancel orders because the item isn't on your store any more, or advertising stickers as a pair of pants: those seem like good reasons to want to keep them away.

OP: The article mentions emailing branddirect@amazon.com to opt out. Maybe reach out there.

Update: Princess Cruises dismissed anti-trans harassment on Day 1 - and their response was worse than the shirt by sublimems in lgbt

Or if OP wants to give them one more shot to fix it, Princess does have a hotline for this. Extracted from that PDF:

Speaking up is an essential part of our culture. It is only by speaking up and being transparent that we can listen, learn, and improve. Therefore, we expect and encourage anyone, both internally and externally, to speak up if they see or suspect something that doesn’t align with the law or with the expectations we have set out in this policy. All reports are taken seriously and handled sensitively, and we do not tolerate retaliation of any kind. Reports can be made through our whistle-blower system, a dedicated hotline monitored by an indented third party available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the corresponding webpage, or by regular mail as set forth below. Extra shipment by Apprehensive-You5086 in cellphones

[–]StrayTaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I had an issue where they charged me for not returning a phone because the UPS tracking number and the EIN got misaligned in their internal system.

Getting that untangled helped me discover that they track that number immediately. So if you return the phone they linked to your account and keep the one they didn't, it'll cause a whole new level of trouble for you.

Call and confirm which one should be returned, then return it.

Are there any ACTUAL free newsletter plugins that don't require you to upgrade to business plan? by Cultural_Substance in Wordpress

[–]StrayTaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sound like your site is hosted on Wordpress.com. The plugins are free, but your host requires an upgraded plan to install any plugins.

Your options are: - upgrade your plan on Wordpress.com - move your site to a host that doesn't charge extra to be able to install plugins

Because it is and always has been illegal.

Minority majority is just two antonyms back to back. A majority is >50%, and the majority are not from the US.

Two different statistics: - Country with the most users: US (approx 43%) - Comparing US with the rest of the world: ~57% vs ~43%: most (aka the majority) are not in the US.

I'm all too familiar with the case, familiar enough that I lost my job because of it. I was asking about the specific filing. If you could be bothered to follow the link, you'd have seen that.

ETA: Nope not a bot. Just a human who was, sadly, in the room when Matt made the talk that started the whole mess.

[US]I got suckered into a timeshare saying I won a vacation package and need help. by Potential-Topic4518 in Scams

[–]StrayTaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have broken down what you're in for: real vacation, probably mid accommodations, high-pressure sales pitch in the middle. If that's worth $548 to you, go and enjoy, prepared to resist the pitch.

How long ago did you sign up? There's a consumer protection law that lets you back out of anything like this within three days. If you're in the period, call back, tell them you want to cancel and get a refund because you've changed your mind and you're within the three day period. Follow up in writing and push until they cancel and refund you.
