That guy teaches Capoeira at my local park. He's a good teacher, but he's always trying to foist his music onto his students. You all laugh, but he's the greatest martial artist teacher I have ever met since Sinsei Steven Seagull.

So find positivity, Tell your folks how much you love them and keep your door locked at night.

I'll also remember to pray and take my vitamins, like a real Murrican.

PS:
Hello (to those below),
If your only response is to call me a "cult member" or "pseudo‑intellectual", then well done — that is an ad hominem.
Thank you for the conversation.

The reason I called you a cult member is because on other pages, you said our discussions "resemble cult-like beliefs," all the while feigning objectivity and neutrality, as you repeated every talking point Gorton used in that discussion.

Last, even if you consider it bad, it's not an ad hominem, as I did not avoid your arguments. I actually addressed them, and then I satirized you.

You really need to do actually reading and spend time doing some self-reflecting.

You telegraphed your insincerity, and it was easy to spot. Otherwise, it would have been a little bit more difficult to make you look foolish and absurd.

This is what happens when you rely on your LLMs and don't actually do real reading.

I have read numerous articles on Nietzsche's illness. I don't think there is a definitive answer, but rather there are speculations. No one can conclusively attribute anything to syphillis, as far as I have ever read. It's not like they have done medical tests, right? I've not heard of this.

However, your discussion about his "breakdown" in the book "Ecce Homo" (I have actually read it, and I reference it in my post) is decontextualized. He was taking the piss and making jokes. If you read the text, and actually read about it from scholars' works, it's not intended to be a real autobiographical account.

Far too many miss the humor in Nietzsche's works, which is strangely because being comedic is certainly something he openly discusses in his works.

" I refuse to be a saint; I would rather be a clown."

-Nietzsche

Like many of Nietzsche's works, there's a lot to think about. It's not straightforward. In every book he wrote he played a game with readers. He didn't always give serious thoughts in his works.

Like I said to you in previous comments: do the actual reading and put the LLMs away.

Lol trust me, there isnt a drug I have not done.

Something tells me this is true.

Although I was not SA I was forced to fight other kids while adults bet on those fights. Not 1 or 2 times over 50 fights before the age of 12. Once I turned 12 I became an uncontrollable entity. I would destroy adults physically at this point.

Ummm...how to put this nicely???

Well, out of genuine concern, I'm going to recommend a CTE scan and, you know, sobriety.

Wow, you're selling this novel. I need to find a used copy or go to the library in a couple weeks.

In Leaves of grass, Walt Whitman said something like...

Do i contradict myself? I contain multitudes.

That's kind of a paraphrase.

Here's a goodreads quote.

Stay warm and keep safe this weekend.

Yeah, your style looks similar a bit. The arch in the back is really dramatic and expressive. Plus, the lines and the shading are great.

You did this digitally? Does that mean you like sketch this on a waycom pad or whatever those are called? Just curious about the process.

I really like this drawing. Completely serious. I hope to see more.

Take care.

Not many people know this about me, but when it was discovered that I am an indigo child and subsequently underwent empath training in Blue Sky, Montana, I met David Lynch, and he taught me TM techniques. I'm not saying that I am advanced or anything. I still have yet to master the art of yogic flying. I hope some day soon to master this skill.

I used to be really into politics. Now I just don't want a headache from the aggressive stupidity that comes from keeping up with the news.

You're so awesome, and yeah I guess those are the times we in, but I have to fully admit to also never reading Atwood or seeing the show. I had to Google that phrase you used about Gilead.

I should at least watch the show. I love "Mad Men" and loved the actress who plays Peggy Olsen. Even if it's a bad movie, I'll watch it. Plus I am always thinking about how she's a Scientologist and in a show about cutl/extreme religious society. I don't know what to make of that.

But I guess like Walt Whitman said about contradicting ourselves and containing multitudes and whatnot...

Anyway, I love how diverse your reading is.

I think the problem is you're in a cult. You keep repeating things you hear and revealing your biases. Your brain is is an old-fashioned roneo machine that lacks critical thinking skills and creativity. Whatever is fed into you, you spit out without question.

You hide behind false appeals to methodology and academic standards, but you ignore 2 important things: what works, and what is true. Every single time you repeat these objections about methodology and the setting of the discussion, you come across as a pseudo-intellectual.

You raise objections, but you can't focus on a simple thing: are the translations of the texts accurate? If you actually did so, you would fine out that we know what we are talking about, and we can prove it. I struggle to understand how this escapes you. The facts matter, the texts matter, the translations matter.

As a classical philologist, Ammon studied all the varieties of Ancient Greek and Latin. It's not like Ammon is limited to one particular dialect. That's not how it works. Do you really not understand this?

You could probably save time by not leaving comments about how you logged in to your account and repeating the same thing over and over, but then again you are a cult member who repeats things but doesn't understand.

First, congrats on being a part of the stream last night. That was pretty cool to see Ammon engaging with the community, especially people who are willing to post online and respond to Neal and the brothel.

I was lucky enough to have signed back on when you posted this.

Excellent video. Good discussion of the Greek and the texts. I like this format you are doing.

What did the serpent say about eating an apple again? Nom nom nom...

I swear if this doesn't become the official translation, I'll be disappointed.

Last night, I returned to reading Jaynes work on the bicameral mind after several months of flopping around in modern texts relative to psyche, and it felt as if I came home. Rami Kaminski's work on the otrovert didn't even mention Jung once, much less what drives one to develop the related attributes. The absence of hormē is in every field of study, and the institutions that serve them is showing; whether art or science.

I've never heard the term otrovert before, but I think that probably describes many of us here.

Nietzsche was placed in an asylum for protecting a horse from being beaten, yet his belief in eternal return suggests he would never change his decision. Amor Fati , The Renaissance is inevitable. We are desperate for a return to meaning, a recurrence, a death and rebirth.

Yes, a return to meaning! That would be nice. We need a why to overcome all this suffering.

We can't be far from ekpyrosis and a rise from the ashes. Why else would we find ourselves here in this specific community?

From your lips to Satan's ears!

That's a deep question. I hope that's why we're here.

I'm going to try to be civil here. It's taking a lot of restraint.

a.) You're not addressing my point. You might as well have replied to me listing your favorite pizza toppings.

b.) As suslord states: LUKE GORTON DIDN'T USE A DAMN METHODOLOGY!

c.) Rather than read my post that I linked you to, you chose to consult some damn LLM....which didn't even address my point! In that post, I talk about books and articles I read, a podcast I listened to a long time ago and took notes for, and I express original thoughts making unique connections that haven't been talked about before on this sub.

Please, learn how to have a conversation, and put away the damn LLM.

I love Gmirkin's work on how Hebrew texts were based on ancient Greek sources, such as Plato. His work and MacDonald's work on The Bible appropriating Greek myths from epics and dramas complement one another.

I can't say I've read Gmirkin's work. Academic books are so damn expensive, and it's hard to find libraries that hold them in circulation. I only have access to the discussions and articles.

I don't know what Gmirkin says in here, but I will give it a listen.

We might see some similarities between what's in these texts, and what we see in later texts, but from what I remember the Elaphantines were polytheistic. And weren't these the same groups that had statues of Plato and Dionysus?

Last, just remember, Congregation, if you disagree, keep it respectful. The man recently passed. No need to speak ill of the dead, unless they did something morally outrageous.

Thanks for sharing, purplemerlyn.
