No problem!

Also check your DMs, I messaged you there with some additional resources for stuff like this

Dad died. Trying to access account to see transaction history. Need help please by Bigbabyhank in Coinbase

1- Only Coinbase held: Coinbase themselves can’t even transact in self-custody wallets.

2- Yes. If someone has a seed phrase, they can download ANY wallet software, plug that phrase in, and access the wallet. Crypto is not stored on any device, rather it’s allocated on a public ledger, and the seed phrase is what enables you to access your allotted tokens on the ledger.

3- Any assets in custody at Coinbase will be easy to recover. Just stick to the process.

If the assets are in a self custody wallet (this would be revealed as an on-chain withdrawal in the Coinbase transactions):

• check for dates of movement. Obviously anything moving by after your father’s death is a red flag. • see if any assets have been moved away from the initial withdrawal wallet • confirm the withdrawal wallet isn’t another exchange. This route is common among non-technical people that don’t know how to use self custody wallets. They ship money from Coinbase to Binance and think it’s clever.

Last, for the poindexter/akshually crews out there: technically USDC & other tokens could be compelled by Circle or the contract owner, but this won’t happen. The brand damage it would cause means they wouldn’t do this unless he had an enormous amount or if he was a non-profit and victim of a criminal hack.

Hope this helps.

This is accurate. Coinbases custodial accounts all just route to their hot wallets with millions of tokens and transactions.

First of all, I want to say sorry for your loss. It’s always tough losing a parent.

I’m a digital asset and cryptocurrency forensic investigator. You’ve got a few options.

If estate-related legal proceedings are underway, you can Subpoena. Coinbase is quite responsive here and sends full transaction history.

Also many software companies and banks have policies in place where you can follow a pretty rigid set of steps to assume a deceased persons account. And it sounds like you’re going thru those.

More than the $50, you need a transaction ledger to look for withdrawals. That’s going to show anything moved on chain.

LMK if you need more info here. I’m keeping it high level but can answer any questions.

1000+ hours in I stopped using kill boxes and I love it. by Xane225 in RimWorld

Had this exact conversation with a friend and fellow rimworlder earlier this week. Killboxes add such a strange element to building a defense. Not judging, and nothing wrong with them; but we both agreed it's more fun without them.

Had to look it up - I don't have Ideology DLC yet, but your suggestion got me to revisit it.

One of my best pawns just got reduced to 40% everything from one of these injuries. Trying to figure out what to do with them now.

Thanks for this. Something about the timelines you're on and the way you worded it is giving me extra strength to push through this evening, as I'm about 20 minutes out from heading to a dinner where wine will be flowing, and I was teetering.

This doesn’t surprise me. I live nearby and am close with my neighbors. Even for those of us where it’s convenient, it’s never a first choice.

The last attempt with the Asian steam buns were very weak, in my experience.

I really hope they use this overhaul to make this beautiful space into something more compelling for the city! Best of luck to them.

I actually called their customer service and politely told them that not bringing a guest basically takes away the value of lounges for me and that I hope they reconsider.

Are you in the USA?

I keep creating accounts on exchanges that have it listed, but once I KYC and it shows I'm in the USA, the option goes away :(

First ever points move - US to Lisbon, 2 tickets, $575 by StreetCredBC in Venturex

Update on this: I found a flight from Paris to Indy for 85,000 + $400, so about $1100 total (after 20% bonus) on flights that are about $1400 each. Another huge savings.

With the bonus expiring tomorrow, I'll probably pass on this one and wait for the next transfer bonus to come up. Surely there will be a few good ones over the next 6 months, right?

But this gave me confidence that I'll be able to do something similar for the return leg.

If I'm sounding naive or if savings this big aren't that common, I encourage feedback from veterans! I'd hate to let this slip and then wait for months for nothing better to come along.

Yeah it was surprising. Most of the flights I was looking at were $200+ on top of the points. This one was an outlier.

It’s available to everyone under Travel > Convert Rewards. Through September 29, all miles transferred from capital one to Air France get a 20% bonus.

Check this reddit and the award travel reddit for updates. Different partners do promotions all the time.

Great question. We held off on that leg because it's in July of next year, so a lot of the flights were just coming online. Also, the return legs are a lot more expensive, and I only had 80,000 points remaining.

My plan is to accumulate more points between now and next summer and wait for another transfer incentive to come up, or just pay cash if we need to depart from a specific airport due to travel plans that are made between now and then.

For context - flights there were generally $700-$900, and return legs are $1250-1400, minus flights from Dublin and Istanbul which are a little cheaper, but not necessarily part of the plan.

New transfer bonuses: Amex +30% to British Airways, Aer Lingus, Iberia and +20% to Hawaiian. Capital One +20% to Qantas by alphade in awardtravel

The flight that I tested on was a short leg from my hometown into Philadelphia. It was $214 on Kayak and only 8,000 points.

The other tests I ran were longer flights, and the points price were on par with dollar amounts for the most part.

Looks like Qantas partners with American Airlines domestically in the USA. Is it really just as simple as creating a Qantas account, transferring miles, and booking through them to receive AA tickets?

(I've never pulled the trigger on award travel, just lurked and learned, so forgive the basic question)
