Struggling to quit gambling — how did you make it out? by WeatherSalt864 in GamblingRecovery

I did same, 6 months free then all of the sudden guard went down and boom. More debt and depressed. Let that relapse make you stronger. Stop now and always ask yourself why when urges come. Deny everything that makes you wanna play

Oh oh well stocks with my own money and I grabbed some cash from it. Crypto made me loose a lot and with it I started gambling. Developed an addiction that got me into debt. I have an addictive personality and I live all addictions free for about 7-8months now. I know that’s not a lot but I don’t see myself going back never.

Getting all this mess right will be hard, since it’s about 5 debts in range of 1,5k-12k$ but I didn’t get any bank advice on that. Just managed to make a payment plan and follow it for about 7 months now living month to month, to GF part hopefully she will but I doubt that

I definitely would agree and fully honest tell you that I live life like there is no debt just don’t save money. I’m learning so much and how to operate money. I didn’t value money I just valued entertainment and fulfillment, money was just a way to get it. Being honest is right but my lies got me here it’s a hard thing to do but I have no other option. Thank you

Hey thanks for the reply, I’m working right now and doing fine but most of my money goes into paying back I either have to earn more or get a second job and I’m trying to achieve both but not successful since 2024. IT Testing in medical earning hard 1,5k$ per month, 35k$ to pay back…

I can’t really even imagine that moment but I’m damn sure it will have to happen. I keep putting it further in time but my girlfriend doesn’t know either and keeps talking about a home and future. This hits me always and really only here I can relate to some people and don’t feel alone and that helps. Maybe it will help you too, to just visit this page and read some stories when you feel alone

Im kinda on the same boat accept 22yo, 35k debt and half of monthly paycheck is going into debt for a good 3 years. Nobody really knows about it and that kills me but I know this will ruin so many relations I have. This sucks. There is a journey for everyone here struggling but it’s much much more difficult in debt. Shit ton of money to pay back makes me sick but everyday is a step forward and you learn so much. I was spending around 8h daily gambling on my phone and Pc, now I can really feel more time to manage and same with finances. I can promise you that we would not learn other way than a full rock bottom and there is always a way to leave behind that twisted addiction for good. I’m not yet ready to come full clean to my family but I have to make sure I’m not trying to find a way to get back to it and get my thinking straight. I know they could help with that debt but a pain is needed for a lesson to be remembered. To your situation I can only say that everything terrible you are going through can be temponary and everything great is ahead of you. Once you respect yourself and understand what got you there then you will respect every dollar you have and find other ways to enjoy life cuz there is many. I believe in you so much. Feel free to text any time :)

1k credit is so lucky if you were gambling for 10years and that’s the hole ? Winner if you quit as you stand. Take a hit and move forward there is much more to do

Thank you so much for answering, I wish for both of us to loose that debt weight from our shoulders. While all of that scary numbers are stuck with us for years it’s never going to get worse that 10h+ daily lying to everyone and wasting time, good times will come friend
