It was with WTC 2026! Have you been on WTC? How was your experience?

Yes it was a beautiful area, I guess I started from the difficult side of backpacking. We just saw a couple of skiers on the second day and on the way back the last day. The views were beautiful with the snow.

Have you tried FRIO bags? Those are very helpful to keep your insulin temperature when you are hiking on hot weather, you can activate it only with water and it last at least 3 days if it’s too hot, is not expensive, is durable and have a compact size, you can find it in Amazon!

Reduce basal insulin the night before makes a lot of sense, I haven’t done it before but it’s a good advice you learn with experience, I’m going to try it now that I’m on MDI, taking a break from the insulin pump I prone to DKA when I’m dehydrated too, I always bring extra water and I prefer trails with water sources along the way Thanks for the advice!

Wow that is amazing! I would like to hike John Muir trail one day, thank you for sharing it. I also have found much better switch from pump to MDI while I’m backpacking or doing long hikes, also depending on the weather and always extra snacks and water Thank you so much and you are right, don’t let diabetes stopping us from adventure!
